Synopsis: A horror/satire comedy about a group of college students who get trapped in a ghost house.
Scary Movie 2 takes it too far. It has lots of funny moments, like the scene mocking a Nike Basketball commmercial, but none of those moments are as funny as the original. Scary Movie was funny because it made fun of lots of modern teen slasher flicks that were very popular like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Scary Movie 2, on the other hand, is based on much less popular films, 2 that are so similair they are hardly separate films (House on Haunted Hill, and The Haunting), along with Hollow Man, which they use way too much of, and which is much less of a typical slasher flick anyway. The best and most revolting as well part of the movie is the opening sequence mocking the Exorcist. After that, laughs get fewer and farther bewteen.
It's time for the Wayans' to move onto a new project. If Scary Movie 3 ever comes out, they will have turned into what they made fun of in the original.
Bottomline: If you are looking for laughs, rent Scary Movie and wait to see Scary Movie 2 when it comes to Blockbuster
