Danny Elfman was largely unaware of his musical talent until the early 1970's when he and his older brother, Richard Elfman started a musical troupe created for Richard's first time directing a film. The group was called "Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo". Today "Boingo" is in existence, both brothers still members. Danny began composing for films when he befriended Tim Burton, a fan of the band. His first score was for "Pee Wee's Big Adventure", directed by Burton in 1985. Since then, Elfman has gone on to be Hollywood's most sought after composer. He has worked with one director more than any other, Tim Burton in films such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Night Before Christmas, most memorably the Batman series, and most recently, Sleepy Hollow.
