Toastburglar's Connie Ramblings:

I've got a lot to say for this one. I first of all, Connie is the best. When I was younger (like, in junior high), I tried to grow my hair as long as hers. And I distinctly remember an incident in a department store when my mother refused to buy me black underwear and I muttered "I bet Connie has black underwear." I don't know why. I was like, 13 at the time. You know the shorts she's wearing at the start of D2? I always wanted those shorts. But not that cow print thing she wears at the team's last practice. Matching hat and pants? Hmm.... I just had a thought. Since they were visiting Los Angeles, they must have been living out of suitcases, and by that point they would be running low on clothes. That outfit seems like a strange one to have left at the end of the trip...maybe she bought it there. When D3 came out and I saw that she was wearing the same striped Adidas sweat pants that I had (the roof scene) I almost died.

Speaking of the roof scene, what was going on between her and Guy? I figure they had a falling out between D2 and D3, cause at the end of D2 they're sitting at the campfire together. I don't know. I think everyone likes to think that they ended up together in the end. I'm just going to keep thinking that way. The roof scene is strange though, because if the movie people didn't want to mention their relationship at all, why was the whole "ruggedly handsome" thing there. It's almost like they wanted to point out that their relationship fizzled. I'm just going to pretend they're married somewhere with 3 kids.

I have to mention the height thing. At the start of D1, Connie is the tallest player on the team. The tallest. At the end of D3 she is the shortest. Yes, she is shorter than Ken Wu. Seriously, she's the shortest. It's obviously because Marguerite Moreau is like, 2 or 3 years older than some of the boys (plus girls grow first). She was probably almost at her full height in D1. And she had to kiss this little boy. I don't know the exact ages, but I think she would have been in like, high school and he would have just started jr. high. Ugh. I'm talking about the end of D1 in case someone out there didn't notice that Connie and Guy kiss at the end of that movie. I didn't the first time I saw it. The theater I saw the all Duck movies in for the first time is closed now. That's kind of sad. My favorite Duck movies is D2, but my favorite part in all the movies is when Guy holds Connie's hand at the North Stars game. *Sigh*

My theory on Connie is that she has a lot of siblings and an abusive stepfather. And that she started to play hockey to get out of the house (and unlike, say, swimming, hockey gear covers all the bruises...aha!) If I had to guess I'd say Connie doesn't do that well in school. And that her and Julie wouldn't really be that good of friends (despite what most fanfic authors seem to think). Anyway, that's my take on Connie.

Connie takes a hit in D2
