Plot

The film starts off with a flashback to Vito's childhood back in Sicily. In the 1950's however an attempt is made on Michael's life while he is at his home. While trying to discover who would attempt such a thing he has to deal with unhappy members of the "family" arguing and trying to upset his business dealings. The flashbacks are concerned with how Vito set up the "family" with Tessio and Clemenza.
