It was a very pretty day in Virginia. The sun was shining, and Rose and Audrey were walking to Dr. Mackenzie's office. Rose entered the room to notice the doctor at the desk.
"Rose, I've been expecting you. I've been waiting to see what Audrey looks like." Dr. Mackenzie got up from her desk and went over to Rose, who was holding Audrey. "Oh, she's so beautiful."
Rose handed Dr. Mackenzie Audrey. "Thank you." Rose followed Dr. Mackenzie into the room.
She placed Audrey on the examining table and looked over her. "Well, Rose, she seems to be fine." Dr. Mackenzie smiled at Rose.
Rose smiled back, and picked up Audrey. She walked out of the room, and looked around. She noticed ancient Egyptian artifacts, and books. "Dr. Mackenzie, are you into Egypt?"
"Yes, a little. My father was an archeologist in Greece and Egypt. He brought those back for my mother, but she died of malaria and my father just decided to give them to me."
"They're beautiful. Have you ever been there?"
"Well, I grew up there for my first nine years. When mother died, my father grew depressed and lost his interest in the famous cities. I did go back, though. A couple of years ago. I've never been back since, and I don't plan to for a while. Why? Are you interested in Egypt?"
"Oh, a little. I wouldn't mind going on a safari in Africa. You know, ride an elephant. Feel the heat waves catch me as I walk through the jungles. Hear a lion roar, and a tiger growl, but I know that I won't be able to go."
"Why? Is it your husband? Children?"
"Well, a little. I'm not sure if the children would like it as much as me."
"Why don't you ask?"
"Because it's way over our budget. I mean, we are able to buy our proper necessities, and extras, also. But I don't think that we would want to spend our money like that when there is so many other things we could do."
"Like what?"
"Well, Max wants to go France, and Jack and I would like to take the kids to Santa Monica."
"Well, then, why don't you?"
"I don't know. We probably will soon. It's just that Jack just opened the gallery, and it's a little hectic."
"Is the business not doing well?"
"Oh, no, it's not like that. It's just that he's getting so many different offers for the paintings. Jack is also allowing other artists to display their work, and those paintings are getting offers as much as his. So by the end of the day he is exhausted, but he never falters. He's always willing to help me with supper, or with the children, and with chores."
"Wow, that's some husband you got there. Don't let him go."
"I won't. Trust me."
