UPDATED MAY 3, 2002
JASON X is now in theaters! It opened last weekend, April 26, and it came in at #3 at the box office. This is NOT bad at all! Since opening it has made to date nearly 8 million dollars as of today. This weekend will boost that number. The movie is great! It's really got a different feel to it than any of the other friday movies, but there is a scene in the movie that gives a direct nod to the sleeping bag kill in Part VII, and the audience I saw the movie with went nuts. Check the movie out! Support Jason. This will show Paramount that there is still interest in the series. As time draws closer and people are hopefully writing more letters, we will see what happens. This fall is when Part VII comes to DVD. Only time will tell what happens.

Well, it has been about a month, and no release date, but that will all change soon. The trailer for Jason X is here! To see it, click here
UPDATED OCTOBER 13, 2001.
Things have been very quiet for a while. You see, it started back this summer. Jason X was supposed to come to theaters on August 17 and that would have been a big push for this uncut dvd, but the movie was delayed and will now come out early 2002. In fact, within the next week or 2, I should hear confirmation via the films director on when it is scheduled to be released. I will let you all know when it is announced. On another note, Martin Blythe has made some comments that sound good on our part, and it shows that we have made a difference with this campaign. He said that the first release of Friday 7 may not be uncut , but as special features it may have some of the cut scenes! But, if that doesnt happen, he did go on to say that they WILL revisit part 7 at a later point to see about possibly releasing it uncut. Now that would be a while down the road, so having the uncut scenes as special features on the disc would definitely be good.
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood will be released on DVD in the fall of 2002, that is definite. That means that within the next few months they are going to start working on it. This is the time when we need to bombard them with more mail. This is when they are actually going to be putting the disc together , and it is the most important time to get their attention. These next few months could be the most important months of this campaigns existence. Really! You can help! Send snail mail through the postal service! Martin Blythe has stated himself that when you Friday fans actually sit down and write a letter(as opposed to an email) it shows that you really care and really take the time to show your patrionage to the series. I am para-phrasing with that, because I don't know his exact quote on it, but he has made a statement similar to that. So come on, these coming days, weeks, and months are when we need to shout to Paramount," WE WANT FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD UNCUT!!!!!!!!"
UPDATED APRIL 6, 2001
Hey, I know I haven't updated in a while, but hey, there hasn't been any news at all. But, hey, I got these great pics, courtesy of ScaryCinema.com. Thank you for the pics, guys. There is one more pic that I am trying to get. If we get the UNCUT version released, you can see this, and much much more! But you guys are still doing great with the letter writing! John Carl Buechler said that when Jason X comes out, that it will revive some interest in the series(maybe within Paramount) and we are betting big bucks that this thing is going to do well at the box office. I don't know why, I just have a feeling(partly from the positive early buzz on the film) that this is going to be a very good Friday film and I think it will perform well at the box office. This will show Paramount that the series still has legs and that it can perform well, possibly prompting them to release Part 7 uncut.
Also, on another note, horrordvds.com just took a poll. It asked the question,"If Paramount released an UNCUT version of Part 7, would you be more likely to buy it. Something like 70 Percent of the people who voted (over 1000 people voted) said that the only way they would buy the DVD would be if it was UNCUT. Paramount, I hope you're listening.
UPDATED DECEMBER 10, 2000.
Ok, there have been some things said by Martin Blythe, who works at Paramount, about the Friday
the 13th DVDs, especially part 7. Some people think that this means we probably won't be getting an uncut disc.
I DON'T think that it means that at all. If anything, I think it means there is a chance. Fangoria2000.com conducted an
interview with Blythe and he said many things that are NOT true, and he knows it. It actually made me a little angry when I read it. Here is an excerpt
from it.
"“I don’t get that many letters,” he says. “I’ve probably
received five since this on-line campaign began on the
subject. They’ve all come recently, and I’m not aware of
e-mails or phone calls. That’s more than I usually get.
FANGORIA readers would be surprised at how few letters
we get.”
That is one of the biggest lies I have ever heard. I get feedback from you guys all the time, and I have recieved hundreds of emails from people telling me that they mailed a letter through the postal service,
and for him to say that he doesnt get letters, well it doesnt make sense. And the no email thing, yeah right! We have sent them thousands of emails, these campaign emails have to be the majority of the mail they get. He is just
trying to diminish our hope. He said that they usually like to release the DVD the way that it was presented in the theater. Well then, why was Part 1 released with extra gore? He says that he wasnt in charge when that happened. Well then why
were there some differences in the part 4 DVD, it wasnt exactly like it's theatrical release. I think he is just trying to make excuses. When asked why they don't do special editions for them, he made some remark about how they do good(in sales), but not extremely well. Well, duh! Maybe
if you actually did something special, like put special features on the disc, or give us an UNCUT version of part 7, then maybe it would sell a little better. And here is the biggest lie of all that he gave. He said that John Carl Buechler hasnt tried to contact them at all. Well, let me see, John has talked to them and he actually
brought it up in a meeting, and they told him that they would "consider it"! I have an idea. Since he says that they don't recieve letters, on all the letters you send, address it TO THE ATTENTION OF MARTIN BLYTHE. Im serious. We'll show him
not to mess with Friday Fans. We'll show him that there is a demand for an uncut version. We can do this if we all work together.
UPDATED SEPTEMBER 30
Big News! I got a email from John that explains a lot, so read it!
Sean,
I've been up to my eyeballs with another film project, directing and
creating the effects, but I have done my due dillegence at Paramount.
Paramount HAS the letters.--They are taking it "under consideration".
To tell the truth, there's not a tremendous amount of heat on this thing
right at this time... In their mind it's an old film, and nobody
important really cares.
--The bastards...
Yet I've not given up.,--
We should all look forward to JASON X.
I know when it's released and if it makes any money at all, the project
should jumpstart and get hot again.-
-My plan is to enlist the co-operation of local DJ's here in LA who love
PART 7 and will willing make a lot of noise about it, and also I'll
enlist the help of Kane Hodder, as he will have a platform to speak out
about it.--I think that together the two of us can start to rattle the
cages at Paramount.
It's not dead. It's just a little dormant at the moment.--We'll turn it
around, but the timing has to be right.
Otherwise, we'll all be dismissed as a bunch of pests.
Don't give up, I haven't.
It's just that with TWO new born baby twins, a five year old son, and a
twenty hour a day work schedule, in conjuntion with attempting to woo
Paramount into something that they seem to have utter distain for can be
challenging.
--We've got to make it important to them. When Jason X opens, the
campaign starts anew. Don't worry Sean, We'll shame the bastards into
it.
All the best,
John
UPDATED 8/12/00 Sorry that I havent updated in a while, it's just that, well, it's going slow. John has not answered my last email which I sent about 2-3 weeks ago and from people I have talked to it sounds like he is working on a movie at the moment so he is a little tied up. Hopefully I will hear from him within the next week or
two. Keep checking back! Last time I talked to John he said he was trying to set up a meeting with Rob Friedman, so we are getting closer to hearing from Rob!!! Also, due to the number of emails and letters sent to them, they have to know that there is a demand so they had better listen!! Keep sending letters and keep up the good work.
UPDATED 7/14/00 John has sent Rob Friedman a lengthy letter and is awaiting his response. This is very good! Keep sending your letters and emails. That is what will really get this thing released. Also, I have been told by a few emails that this website is mentioned in FANGORIA. Cool!
I have spoken with John Carl Buechler and he is happy with what we are doing and he fully
supports us. I, myself, am very excited at all of you that are pitching in and helping out and writing letters. I really
do appreciate it. Anyway, back to John Carl Buechler. When I talked with him, he told me that he too wants the uncut
version released. He thinks that he can get Barry Zetlin, the original editor, to help him re-edit the film into its uncut form. But
to do that he has to convince Paramount to open the vault where all the camera original film is stored and give him access to it.
Then they would also have to let him do a full re-mix. He says that he would also have to have Frank Mancuso Jr's full blessing.
As tough as that may all sound, he says that it is actually all do-able! But guys, listen, he has not talked to the guys at Paramount yet. But
when he does, they need to know that there is a demand for this to be released, so keep sending your emails and keep telling everyone you know
about this site, because if Paramount doesn't see enough of a demand for the uncut version, they are not going to let John re-edit and release it.
I will post more news as it becomes available.
