Kate Winslet was born in Reading England on October 5, 1975. She was born into a family of actors. She went into the “family business” during her first gig in a Sugar Puff commercial with the Honey Bear. She later did some stage acting. Her first movie was Peter Jackson’s Heavenly Creatures. She played one of two girls (her character’s name was Juliet Hulme) whose friendship grows to the point they will murder for it. Another movie and a year later, she starred in Sense and Sensibility, which she was nominated for an Oscar. After two more movies, she was sought out by legendary “budget buster” James Cameron to play the role of a seventeen year old socialite who was in an un loving relationship. This girl was known as Rose Dewitt Bukater. Kate was nominated for another Oscar in the blockbuster Titanic. She was the youngest (age 22) actress to have received two nominations. Since then she has played in three more released movies with several more on the docket. She will continue to dazzle us in the future.
