Talos

A.K.A.: Thalos

Height: 100 ft. (from video box cover, my estimate is 150 ft.)

Weight: A lot

Regular Abilities: Made of hard bronze, bronze sword, can lift boats

Special Abilities: none

Weakness: Dies if it springs a leak, plug at heal can easily be opened

Film Appearances: "Jason and the Argonaughts" (1963)

History: According to Greek mythology, Talos is one of the titans. He was made when the bronze statues of the gods at the isle of bronze were forged. He guards the treasures found there. If any are taken, he wakes up to kill whoever took it and everyone else around. Turned into scrap metal when Jason "pulled his plug out". Although a moving statue is unrealistic, the bronze statue itself is not. There really was a giant Greek statue similar to this, the Colossus of Rhodes. That inspired the Statues of Liberty, and this movie might have inspired "Ghost Busters II" (that stuff coming out of him looks just like ectoplasm).

Fighting Power: **

For one thing, this guy is very, very slow. What do you expect from a giant living bronze statue? Even though bronze is fairly strong, iron, steel, and titanium are a lot stronger. If Godzilla can easily dent up Mechagodzilla, who is made out of extremely strong space titanium, then bronze would really be beat up. Still, he does have a big sharp sword he can use, and he is quite strong. He was made to be a fighting protector, and he can do just that.
