History: As with everything else, the precise nature of the history depends on which Rangers/Sentai series that one watches. The general rule is that a team of super-hero type people go around protecting the Earth from any number of sources, and when needed they hop into large mech-like devices called zords, which usually (but not always) take on the appearance of animals. When the various zords are combined together, they form one large, generally anthropomorphic, megazord that has enough power to take out any large beast or robot or whatever that is threatening the planet. There is an absurd amount of variations when it comes to megazords, but they all share a number of similarities allowing them to be lumped into one category.

Fighting Ability: *****

Whatever megazord is used for whatever series, the general rule is that they are very powerful defenders of humanity. No matter what the situation, no matter how powerful the opponent is, eventually the Power Rangers (or whatever) will win the day, and the Megazord is their ultimate weapon. When split into what tends to be 5 or 6 zords, each with it’s own powers and abilities, any number of smaller challenge can be solved. Larger challenges, usually in the form of a large monster type beast, require the combined effort of all the zords. The Megazord can do the usual punching and kicking and throwing and such, and usually has a number of powerful "fight-ending" abilities, which tends to be the use of an energized sword or other over-sized weapon. With strength, tough armor, and versatility, the Megazord serves as a very useful last line of defense.
