*** Mechagodzilla, Rodan, and Baby G Are All Back!

Seeing success from bring-back Godzilla movies, Toho decided to bring some more in. The remade Mechagodzilla, Rodan, and even baby Godzilla. They also did a better job than the last one.

Using the technology from Mecha-King Ghidrora, the U.N. built Garuda and then Mechagodzilla. Meanwhile, an egg is found on a nuclear waste island. Rodan shows up, and then Godzilla comes. They fight, Godzilla wins. The egg hatches in Japan, and Baby Godzilla pops out. Godzilla comes, and beats up Mechagodzilla. He turns away from Baby G for unknown reasons. A song revives Rodan, who comes to rescue Baby G. Mechagodzilla comes and beats up Rodan. Godzilla comes put the G-crusher zaps Godzilla’s second brain. From the insistence of Baby G, Rodan saves Godzillla by giving him his energy. Godzilla pops back up and blows Mechagodzilla to smithereens.

Well, not as bad as the last one. Plot is better to, but shooter and simpler. The special effects are good, but sometimes to good. There is so many sparks and explosions that it gets a little annoying at times. Mechagodzilla, Rodan, and Baby G are all remade, but in the process they start to look absolutely ridiculous! Especially Rodan (who is some reason called Radon). It focuses on to parts: cutesy Baby G parts and Godzilla is a bad guy parts, two ideas that don’t go well together. Despite the fact that the movie is rather lame and corny for the most part, it aint to shabby. The action is long and fun. It is very well done and very explosive. The redeeming quality of this movie is the great battle scenes put in with the bad stuff.

The movie is rather brainless and pathetic, but still a lot of fun. It is a great movie for those who want to see cool Heasei Godzilla action but don’t give a hoot about plot. It is a fun movie that most everyone who loves Godzilla will enjoy, to a reasonable amount. It’s a bad movie, but not to shabby.
