Godzilla vs. King Ghidora

***
The Ultimate Battle of the Biggest and the Best.Toho got their series going, and then they wanted to show what they really could do. They brought back the classic King Ghidora to face an updated Godzilla. They wanted to destroy the previous movies, so they had time travel that screwed up the continuity.
Some people from the 23rd century traveled back in time to supposedly save Japan. They went back in time to Godzilla’s creation, a dinosaur on Logos Island in 1944. They transported it to the ocean so it wouldn’t turn into Godzilla in the 1954 H-bomb test. However, they stuck creatures called Dorats on the Island, and when they came back, King Ghidora had formed. They wanted to destroy Japan because later on, it will become extremely powerful and buy up like half the world (yeah, right). The Japanese weren’t happy with that, so the recreated a bigger and stronger Godzilla. After massively injuring King Ghidora and killing the bad time-travelers, Godzilla went and attacked the nearest city, heading for Tokyo (oopsies!). The good time travelers went back to the future, and came back with Mecha-King Ghidora. It fought with Godzilla, and both dropped into the ocean from high up. King Ghidora probably died, but Godzilla sure didn’t.
Well, it’s still has an oddball plot, but not as bad as the last one. The plot is a little screwy, dealing with time travelers with futuristic technology. All the Sci-fi stuff looks a little lame. It may have been excusable back in the 60’s and 70’s, when campy Sci-fi was the norm, but they had no excuse when they made this one. It has ray guns, UFOs, time machines, jet packs, and cyborg humans that look like a mixture between the Terminator and the Six Million Dollar Man. It even has a very lame dinosaur scene that is just plain silly. Sure, it was before Jurassic Park, but it still looks lamer than it could have been. It has it all, but looses it because of it’s lack of excuse.
However, it aint to shabby of a movie. The quality backgrounds aren’t there as much, but the special effects have improved a bit. It also has probably the highest monster parts/human parts ratio of most Godzilla movies. It has so much the movie gets that double movie effect with two separate climaxes. It has a lot of monster fight scenes, all of which were done well. Godzilla growing bigger was a good idea, even though he seemed to get even stiffer in the process. Although the plot is oddball, it at least is good everywhere else. It has a few plot holes, but nothing to severe. The movie was done good, it’s just has that dumb main concept.
The movie wasn’t to shabby. It may have been lame and pathetic in the plot, but the special effects are improving. If you like stiff special move exchange monster fights, this would probably be the best one to watch. If not, watch it anyways. It’s not to shabby.
