* As Bad as it Gets.

Unanimously agreed on to be the worse Godzilla movie ever made! I’m not sure what they were thinking when they made this one, but it was lame. It may not be totally allful, but it’s still the worse of the lot.

A little kid named Ichiro has a rotten life. He is plagued by bullies and his parents are never home. He escapes reality by sleeping all the time, dreaming about Godzilla (how he was able to induce what he dreams about, I may never know.). He dreams about Godzilla fighting other monsters and having himself meet a size-changing talking Minya. After he persuades Minya to fight a monster version of his own bully, he works up the courage to face a couple of bank robbers that captured him. He then beats up his bully, and be’s a jerk towards some guy doing painting work.

The main concept of having some kid dream of Godzilla and see a bunch of Godzilla fights is pretty good, but other than that this movie sucks! The main concept is O.K., but did they have to make it so painfully boring? Despite the fact that the Godzilla and Minya vs. Gabera fights were fairly good, the rest were just stock footage. Although it is nifty to have a kid dream up a talking Minya, it just ends up into being a goofy Barney look-a-like! It is yet another Godzilla message movie, this one explaining that parents shouldn’t work and stay home with their kids. Although I agree with the idea, I doubt this movie did anything to help this problem, mainly because the parents that do that wouldn’t have time to take their kids to the movies and watch it themselves. I’m not sure if it is culture clash or not, but this movie also tries to teach kids to use violence to solve their problems and to not be afraid to be a jerk. Those concepts are rather weird in today’s American society.

As a whole, there aint much to say about this movie. It is a terrible movie that appeared to be slapped together. It is boring and has half the movie in stock footage. It has it’s good points, but their just not worth it. Bottom line is: don’t watch this movie unless you have to.
