l ' Histoire

I think I was exposed to music very early... probably as an infant as my earliest recollections of hearing music are of at the kitchen table in a highchair, WCTC (central NJ) blaring on the radio every morning. My mom loved music and was always listening to the radio and buying records. Motown... Since all of my sisters were older than me I was ahead of my time with the music I listened to. My best friend had sisters older than mine. We would grab their 45's when they weren't around and play them. My favorites were Cathy's Clown, Splish Splash, Witch Doctor, Chantilly Lace, BimBombay, Don't Let the Rain Come Down, and Downtown. My oldest sister Chrissy brought me the Beatles, and I remember us piling in the station wagon to the drive-in to see "Help!". Also I remember the Steel Pier and seeing Gary Lewis and the Playboys. I was about 7 at the time. Me and my friends would always pretend we we were rock stars, or pretend we were the owners of a night club. We would turn on black lights, or a closet light, play the records and sing on stage. "Don't say no it's the end of the world", Dave Clark Five, Herman's Hermits, Dusty Springfield. Soon my sisters were bringing home Sabbath, Yes, ELP, Traffic, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Woodstock Soundtrack, The Doors, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and Ten Years After. I love the movie "Almost Famous" because I feel like I am that boy. The strangest album they ever had was The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus. My sister Beverly got into Glam Rock and brought home Ziggy Stardust which I loved. That started my love affair with old Bowie. I brought it into my 6 grade class once! They thought I was weird... Well, I finally had some money to buy my own stuff, and started buying Led Zep, KISS, Aerosmith, Kansas, Angel, Boston, the Eagles, and Nugent...This was my teenage high school years 1974 - 1978. Nearing the end of high school I got into punk rock and was listening to The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Jam, Elvis Costello, and later The Minute Men, The Hoodoo Gurus, The Church, Autoclave, Gaunt, The Smiths, Kate Bush, Siouxie, The Lemonheads, The Mighty Lemon Drops, and Lush, which led me into more obscure indie music such as Sebadoh, Galaxie 500, Helium, Strawberry Switchblade, Billy Bragg, Kirsty MacColl, Salem 66, The Undertones, The Bats, The Chameleons, and Ilyah Kuryahkin. In my 30's a friend exposed me to BM so now I am back tracking into metal, which I missed totally! (except for Motorhead) My music is the culmination of all my music influences. I hope you enjoy it!
