My Favorite Things About Spike
In his human life Spike was known as William the Bllody- down to his bloody awful poetry. He was rejected by noble woman Cecily and ran into Drusilla who vamped him. He became Spike, named so because he tortured his victims by ramming railroad spikes through them, and killed two slayers. One in the 1900 Boxer Rebellion, China and one in 1970's New York, from whom he stole his signature coat.
Spike came to sunnydale wanting to kill Buffy and Angel for his lover Drusilla. He left at the end of the second year of Buffy, but was dumped by dru- first time for a chaos demon and then for a fungus demon.
Spike first became a real presence in Sunnydale when he returned in the fourth year seeking the Gen of Amarra, with ex-highschool snob and recent Vampire, Harmony Kendall. But The Initiative put a behaviour modification chip in to spikes head meaning he couldn't haem humans but he could fight demons. So he reluctantly aligned himself with the scoobies fighting evil.
Somewhere along the line Spike fell in love with Buffy. It wasn't just lust, Spike truly and purely loved Buffy but until she returned from heaven there wasn't a shadow of a chance. But trying to feel something after her return from the beyond Buffy embarked on a destructive romance with Spike. When she broke up with him Spike couldn't handle it and tried to rape Buffy.
Devastated, Spike took off for Africa in search of a powerful demon who could help him give the Slayer what's coming to her. Regardless of what he was expecting, Spike received something no one anticipated: the return of his soul. His return to sunnydale saw him being used by the first and he stuggles to deal with having a soul...
