Extra: This image is just a very quick pencil tracing of a messy scribble with a very small amount of inking. If anyting, it's a teaser of future YnM fanstuff I'll be doing :P. At the present date, this image is the main image on my main site Holli the Genet.

Extra: This picture was drawn while I was sketching out concepts that might work for the Tsuoka ML Kiss Challenge. After trying to sketch a possible kiss on top of someone's head, I ended up with this, which has no kiss happening...but it turned out to be a nice and powerful image of seduction and possessiveness on both Tsuzuki and Hisoka's behalfs. Probably the most interesting thing to render on here (or rather what I tried different techniques on) was the background. The characters themselves were many layers, but then there was a floor layer, sky layers, and several window layers for the different pieces of wood. To make the window, I used the ink rendition as a very basic guidelines for the straighter lines I ended up drawing for the window. To say the least, I made an interesting, if okay image. Hee hee, there's a little Tsuzuki ass in sight too. :D

Losing Myself in You

Rating: PG13 - R
Technique: pencil sketch, ink copy, Photoshop color and effects rendering.
Date Uploaded: 04/10/04
Extra: This is my last entry for the Tsuoka ML on Yahoo. I wanted to do more (work on this one more and make more kiss pictures), but Easter is tomorrow, and Monday is the only day I have left to do my school work before my break is over.

So, I scanned and colored this picture in a span of 3 hours before I went to shower and get packed to go home. I still need to pack actually, as I type this, LOL.

Uhh...the characters had about 45 gradient shadings (plus other layers) this time around instead of being in the sixties. Why? A better inking job on my part made it easier, and also a bigger scale makes it easier too. Also, no clothes means fewer colors, since most colors are only hair and skin. LOL, that's funny, but it's true!

The original sketch for all these pictures was interesting. I wanted their eyes open while kissing (I love eyes!), but that just looked weird. LOL, so almost kissing was what looked good. LOL

There are 3 (or rather 4 if you count the ink copy) different versions of this pic listed below. Enjoy!

Maybe I'll visit back on this and comment more, but that'll have to wait until later.

Horosha to Wakamono (The Youth and the Wanderer)

Extra: This was a drawing I've had for awhile, and I wanted to put this pic up AFTER MorningStar and myself started to post an AU fic that has everyone as ninja/samurai. However, that proved to take too long, so I went ahead and inked and colored it anyway.

All of my pics take several layers of color gradients, but this one required 66 of them for just Tsuzuki and Hisoka alone. That does not include the scenery, original picture or the other tweaking I had to do. *yeeek!*

It was actually pretty fun to color, and creating the scenery was fun too, finding the images, editing them, blurring them and placing them (an actual photo of Japanese forest/mountain area that has been tinted more blue/green and blurred, a huge butterfly graphic I edited/recolored, and an old botony sketch of cherry blossoms I recolored and blurred).

Anyhoo, that's it! Naming it was hard, but fun! (and I wonder how accurate it is!)

Chu!

Subject: Tsuzuki and Hisoka
Rating: PG
Technique: Pencil sketch, ink copy and ink rendering
Date Uploaded: 03/22/04
Extra: The name of this piece is the sound effect that Japanese has for a kiss (chu? that is interesting). This went through a lot of transformations before I got the final version, and I still don't really like it. :P

The original sketch is a funny pic with Hisoka having an angry expression, and Tatsumi and Watari scribbles in the background. In the process of making it a color piece of art, I completely changed Hisoka's expression and outfit as I tightened up the characters' designs and body portions; I also went back to my YnM manga and checked for how Matsushita-sensi drew faces. I believe fanart, while it is fanart, should do it's best to mimic the original art if it's suppose to be a really good piece. I wanted this one to be a good one too.

The pencil tracing received a watercolor treatment, but it proved to irk me; I didn't like it. While the color wasn't bad, I did not like the body proportions (especially Tsuzuki). BuddhaFrog and I agreed with each other that something...was amiss.

Even though people tend to like my Photoshop renditions, the watercolor of this pic was not bad, but I wanted to redo it because of what I viewed as inaccurated character designs.

Taking the watercolor drawing, I did one partial tracing, changing the design as I went but ended up tossing it (artists just know when something isn't going to work; that's why my sketchbooks and composition books are full of pages with just one line or two).

The second one was just as troublesome, but finally came out. I finally made Tsuzuki look bigger than Hisoka w/o being overwhelming like I wanted, but didn't put Hisoka out of the pic in the background, but putting Tsuzuki's body behind him. The "Chu!" heart from the initial scribble made it back into this picture, absent from the watercolor version.

With it finally traced, tweaked and tightened, and since people liked my Photoshop coloring, I decided to Photoshop color it. I inked it, and actually used whiteout on it a couple times (I usually never have to), scanned it and colored it on Photoshop. This picture required 30 different gradients; it almost wasn't worth it (and in my opinion, wasn't LOL). Typically I use 20 at the most, but this pic proved to be difficult. There ya go!

Sucking Face

Date Uploaded: 03/22/04
Extra: An intense face sucking kiss! Well, not really, but it is intense it seems. :D This is from an old sketch I had, so it's pretty apparent why I didn't immediately make it into any kind of art in particular. Instead of either watercoloring it or photoshop coloring it, I decided to just ink it for the hell of it; it take a whole lot less time. ^_^ The most fun about this pic? Drawing Hisoka's butt. :P

Sweetest Vibrations Version 3.0: Nani?

Date Uploaded: 03/13/04
Extra: Another one of my Sweetest Vibrations "in the bed" Tsuzuki & Hisoka pics. Originally this one in the progress of being colored before Version 2.0 below, but Version 2.0 had actually been sketched first. Funny how things work out. Originally this had been a color pencil picture (before I decided to combine watercolor and color pencil), and it was done before Version 2.0. However, I really hated the color pencil version of this pic, so I made this photoshop one after copying it again and inking it. :P Enjoy! The reason for the title "Nani?"...well, I couldn't think of anything better, and I think Hisoka's face just about says that LOL (although that was not my intention)

Extra: An original scribble by Yoko Matsushita from her YnM Sketchbook. I scannned it, blew it up, traced it and then watercolored and touched it up with color pencil from a scribble that was only about 1 to 2 inches originally. There is no computer editing on this one either. :D Looks like I'll do at least one more of these type of original drawing/fan coloring. It's fun!

I usually never color anyone else's art, even the art of the original creator, but I like doing this, and I may do it again soon with Yoko's other sketches! :D

This pic was named after The Cardigans' song Hanging Around for a good reason; the song is about someone who is desperate and drinking. This pic/fic is that case in point. LOL :P
