Having lived through an Ascension, she helped the "Scooby Gang" when Mayor Wilkins tried to perform his. She fell in love with Xander, and they were together for quite sometime. They lived together, and were even engaged. Except that on their wedding day, Xander got an unexpected visit from an old man claiming to be him in the future (except that is was a man seeking revenge on Anya who had tortured him while she was a demon). The man gave Xander an ugly vision of the future of them being married and of him killing Anya. So he decided against the marraige and left Anya upset and heartbroken. So she went back to being a vengeance demon.
