Al Roker
Weather Reporter
Al Roker has been the weather and feature reporter on NBC News' Today since January 1996. Until January of 2000, Roker also served as the weekday weather forecaster for News Channel 4's early evening newscast Live at 5 on WNBC-TV, NBC's flagship owned and operated station in New York City.
Raised in Queens, New York, Roker received his B.A. in Communications from the State University at Oswego in 1976, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the school in 1998. He resides in Manhattan with his wife, ABC News 20/20 Correspondent, Deborah Roberts and has two daughters.
Al is more than just a weatherman. He is also a great guy with a great sense of humour. You can always rely on Al to give you an accurate weather report, I wouldn’t know what to wear everyday if it wasn’t for him! Even my good friend Jac agrees that he gives better weather than any other reporters that we know (but I’m not allowed to insult Sandra Sulley – not that I am – otherwise Jac and her daddy would hate me). “NEW YORK” Magazine has named Al Best Weatherman twice, which proves that I’m not just saying that he’s the best because I’m a fan :)
To see Al’s weather reports watch NBC Today on channel seven, at 4-6am Tuesday to Saturday mornings (check your TV guide for any changed times).
