January-For the New Year-
Finding your Totem Animals Plus-The Year of the Dog
In the book Animal Medicine, Native American directions of north, south, east, west, above, below and inside are each represented by animals which are unique for each individual.Totem animals come to assist you with the lessons of each direction in your life path. Tonight's presentation will allow you to learn which animals assist you in your path. We'll also learn about the Year of the Dog which begins in February.
I have collected pictures to share with you of different animals which you can take home and make part of honoring your friends the animals. If you have extra pictures you want to share, now's the time!!
February-Meeting the Elements Through Meditation
The word "meditate" comes from the Latin meditari, "to reflect upon, to study, to ponder." It is a great way to exercise the mind in thought or contemplation. During tonight's presentation, you will learn the basics of mediation. Then through separate guided meditations, you will meet each element (air, fire, water and earth) in order to gain a better personal understanding of each element and to receive a gift which will assist you in your path. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes!
March-The Magic of Sound:Chanting, Toning, Sounding the Crystal Bowls
Join us for an evening of exploring vocal sound, crystal bowls, free flowing toning and chanting. The use of conscious sounds can be very healing as it releases stress and blockages from the body, creating a sense of well being and joyful expansion. As we create and share our unique vibration as a group, we allow the vibration of the sound to carry us more fully into our Higher Selves and connect more deeply to Spirit. This gathering is playful, experimental, powerful and fun. If you have a small instrument such as rattles or a drum you would like to bring, please do.
April-Making Your Own "Tarot" Deck
An old-fashioned make and take combined with your practicing reading the cards! I'm gonna teach you what I learned when I made cards as a joke for a fundraiser Halloween party at a state agency (in Arizona) years ago. Please bring magazines to cut up and share! I'll bring some too!
May-Designing Your Own Ritual
"Ritual" is simply a ceremonial act or action, or an act or series of acts regularly repeated in a set manner. Though each of us walk our own path, there are certain fundamental steps in creating a meaningful and powerful ritual. Tonight's presentation will discuss these steps (feel free to add any you feel are important to you!) and then together we will create and conduct a simple ritual of the group's choosing based on what we have discussed.
