Kaitlin came home the next day, which was Thursday. She slept most of the day until the afternoon when she woke up. I was watching t.v in the living room with Mac and Avery when she came in.
"Hey, how you feeling?" I asked and she sat in the arm chair across from me.
"Like I've just been ran over. I think I slept like a log. Where's your mom?"
"She and my dad went grocery shopping and Ike took Jessi and Zoe to Wal-Mart."
"Hey Kaitlin wanna watch Scooby-Doo with us?" Mac asked and looked at her with a smile.
"No thanks Mac. I think I'll take a shower. Maybe that will wake me up," She replied and went back upstairs to the bathroom.
The phone rang and I grabbed it on the second ring.
"Hello?"
"Zac. Mom left a message on my cell. Is everything okay?" Tay asked and I could here noise in the background.
"Yeah. We just had a little incident with Kaitlin at Tulsa Teen the other night. But she's okay?"
"Incident? What happened?"
"Just think, Mark Johnson, Kaitlin and Vodka," I replied and laughed at the scene on the t.v screen.
"Oh God! Is she okay? What happened?" He exclaimed with suprise.
"Well Ike and I took her to Tulsa Teen and Admiral Twin were playing. Mark spiked her doctor pepper with vodka and were had to take her to the hospital. Or actually an ambulance to her."
"Wow...See what I miss when I'm away?" He said and I laughed.
"How's Natalie?" I asked and went into the kitchen.
"She say's to tell everyone hi," Tay replied and I could here Nat yelling something in the background.
"Listen, tell mom that we're coming into town later tonight. We just stopped in Atlanta to visit her family but we'll be home later on. Okay?"
"yeah man. See ya later...Oh and Kaitlin say's to tell you that she's okay?" I replied and hung up the phone.
"Hey I need a towel!" Kaitlin yelled from upstairs and I ran up after her. She was in the bathroom with the door cracked, but I couldn't see anything. I handed her a towel and stood outside the door.
"Tay was just on the phone and he say's their coming in later tonight," I replied and she came out of the bathroom with some shorts and a t-shirt. I could see a large bruise on the back of her arm that looked pretty dark. I almost looked like blood under the surface.
"That's a big bruise you have there," I said following her into the guest room.
"Oh yeah...Well I just fell off my bike the other day," She said and sat on the bed. She began towel drying her hair and brushing it with a comb.
"That must have been some pretty mean bike," I said trying to lighten the mood.
"Well, it wasn't a tricycle or anything. A car ran our in front of me without looking."
"How long have you had the bruise?" I asked and she looked up startled.
"Bruise?...oh uh...a few weeks ago. It's nothing really," She hesitated and looked at me strangly.
"What?"
"Do you always watch people when their getting out of the shower?"
"No..I was just getting you a towel," I said in a shaky voice.
"Well I'd like it if you'd leave so I can get dress and do my hair," She said in a sassy tone.
"Zac!, Mom and dad are here," Mac called up to me and I walked out of the room. I was really getting sick of her talking to me like that. Like I was some kind of child. I was beginning to think that maybe she was just a pretty face without a personality. I found my parents sitting groceries on the counter and I started emptying the bags.
"Where is Kaitlin?" My mother asked me and she put a frying pan out on the stove.
"She's getting dressed. She just took a shower and she has to dry her hair. Tay called and said that he and Nat are coming home tonight so they should be in around 6 or so."
"That's great but I thought they were going to be in Atlanta for a few days?"
"They are in Atlanta. He didn't say how her grandmother was doing but Nat was saying something in the background."
"Ike and the girls aren't back from Wal-Mart yet? I told them not to be gone long?"
"Their here!" Mackenzie yelled from his pirch at the window.
"Make don't yell sweetie. We can all hear you," My mother said gently as Avery passed me with some dinner plates.
"Zac did Ashley call? He wanted to go over the schedule for the next studio session," Walker asked and began stirring the spaghetti sauce on the counter.
"I haven't heard from him but didn't he say for you to call him?" I asked and Ike came in with Zoe and Jessi. They carried Wal-Mart sacks and put them on bar counter.
"Zac, we got you some more band-aids and insect repelant," Jessi said and gave me the bag of items.
"Thanks," I said and went up the stairs to my room. On the way I passes Kaitlin with her long red hair up in a pony-tail. She had on the same shirt and shorts that she wore earlier.
"Didn't you way Taylor was coming over?" She asked me as I passed her bedroom.
"No. He and Natalie have their own house now so their probably going to sleep there tonight," I said trying to make my voice sound as rude as possible. Unfortunately she didn't catch my tone.
"Dinner's ready," I said and through the bag on my bed.
"What are we having?' She asked and ran a brush over her ponytail. I really didn't get why she was getting so fixed up for. It was just our house, unless she was trying to empress someone.
I went back downstairs to find Ike sitting in the living room. "She really is rude," I remarked and he looked up at me.
"Who?"
"Kaitlin. She's a witch and Im starting to think that she's just a pretty face. She acts all smart-butt around me and Im tired of it."
"I told you, but you were like all star-struck when she got here."
"Well she asked about Tay yet again. I kinda think the's obssessed with him. I just hope she doesn't try to get in their way,"
"Well if she does. We'll just have to have a long talk with her. Set her straight and tell her that Tay's married and he's off limits," Ike said as we were both called into the kitchen.
I helped stir the sauce pan as dad talked on the phone with Ashley. They talked about Kaitlin staying with us and about Taylor and Nat's return home.
I honestly couldn't stand how she was acting to me. I just hope she wouldn't be here long.
