Population & Housing

Nobody is for sure of the exact population of the Mohican Indians. It is estimated that their population ranged from 1600, to as many as 35,000 people. Currently they only have around 1500 people, but there are no censuses of the indian reservations, so nobody is for sure. In thier prime, the Mohicans had over 20 villages. They lived in Wigwams or Longhouses. Some of them were as long as 100 feet. They lived in families, ussually of 3 or 4. Most of thier villages were located on lakes or rivers, for fishing and hunting purposes.
