The mohican name can either be spelled: Mohican, or Mahican; however, it can not Mohigan as it was in the movie: The Last of Mohigans. The movie caused many misconceptions. Including, but not limited to: spelling the name wrong, and makign many people that the mohicans are extinct. The movie was based on the Mohicans, but the name suggested a totally different tribe. The mohegans lived further south, and were a totally different tribe.
