October Lunch Meeting at Old Spaghetti Factory, Chesterfield

On a beautiful fall day 92 teammates, spouses and guests gathered for the October monthly lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Chesterfield. The food and service were very good and the fellowship superb. The door prize winners were John Allquist, Jane Baggett, Neal Covinsky, Bill Doer, Vi Hotze, Ed Klein, Everett Marquardt, Deb Nathanson, and Dick Vieth. The door prize barrel is getting bare so if you have anything you would like to contribute please let Norm Beckel know.
Ed Klein, member of the BAC Retirement Advisory Board, brought us his latest news on the annual medical insurance program. The sign ups have been delayed this year because of the new Medicare D prescription drug program but news should be forthcoming from BAC in the next few weeks. This new drug program has caused a lot of extra work at BAC but Ed reported that he feels BAC is doing a good job in getting the program set up.
Joe Fenier, member of our lunch group, has been researching the Medicare D prescription drug plan. This plan affects everyone who is enrolled in Medicare. There is a lot of information available but everyone's situation is different so it will require some study by each of us. The good news is that if you are in a BAC plan and plan to stay there you may not have to do anything. Further information on Medicare Part D is in the gov't publication, "Medicare & You 2006" (which you should have received in the mail recently), at the website www.medicare.gov and by phone at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
