Lunch Meeting at Grappa Grill, St. Charles

The May lunch was held at the Grappa Grill in St. Charles.
This was a new restaurant for the group and seemed to work well.
66 "old" teammates enjoyed the fellowship, food and of course the door prizes. John Buncher and Jim Kohlberg were able to rejoin the group after some health problems. Good to see you back in good health. Wayne Nathanson returned from his winter home in Arizona. Glad to have you back with us. Otto Kosfeld made his first appearance with the group and was welcomed with a door prize.

Speaking of door prizes the "big winners" this month were John Buncher, Joe Conti, Merle Flickinger, Mick Gleason (Mick seems to be on a hot streak), Bob Graham,Joe Hely, Otto Kosfeld, Joe Moore, Dave Ott, Dean Purdy, Carl Scheske,Dave Shean and Wade Wilkerson. Congrats to the winners.

Framed photographs were presented to Arnie Mueller, Joe Bell (in abstentia) and Earl Robb. Joe and Arnie won gold medals in the 5K Run at the recently completed St. Charles County Golden Games. Earl won a silver in the 5K Competitive Walk. Congratulations on your fine performances. Congrats also to Adolf Mueller and Bob Groh who serve on the Game Committee responsible for running these competitions.

A number of our teammates are suffering with health problems. We urge everyone to look in on these folks. Phone calls, cards and visits are always welcome. Lloyd Carpenter is still in Missouri Baptist Hospital undergoing tests. Rick McGee is recovering at home from a stroke. Rus Ramberger is doing much better and should be back with us soon. Ed Stanwich is confined in the Veterans Home in St. James, MO. If you are down that way look in on Ed. Joe and Ruth Trammel are both suffering form various ailments.

The June lunch will be held Wed. 9 June at the Buffet City Restaurant 1308 Clarkson/Clayton Center, Ellisville. There will be no lunch in July and August.
