May Lunch Meeting at Old Spaghetti Factory

Another beautiful day and another great gathering of "Mac's Old Team" for lunch. The Old Spaghetti Factory in Chesterfield was the scene of the crime. 61 retirees enjoyed the fellowship and food. This was our first time at the Spaghetti Factory and it was a very pleasant setting with great food and service.
LeRoy and Lee Unruh and Denny Maurer made their first visit. We hope you had a great time and will become a regular.
There are two books recently published by retirees that will interest MAC retirees and anybody interested in aviation and space exploration.
"A Sky Full of Challenges" an autobiography of Joe Dobronski , chief test pilot and manager of flight operations at MAC/MDC, is now available at the Borders book stores in the St Louis area. They are located in the "Local Authors" section. You can contact Joe at jodobro@earthlink.net .
"Before Mercury Rose" is the "Half-life of an Ex-Spaceman" written by H.H. "Luge" Luetjen. Contact Luge at luge@iland.net . Both books are very good reads and bring back many fond memories.
Of course there were door prizes awarded to the "lucky" ones. Earl Robb donated some wonderful golf related items in honor of the upcoming retirees' tournament. The big winners this month were Glen Bowers, Ed Carmody, Joe Dobronski, Bob Heide, Aaron Hogg, Bob Lake, Bruno Lohmueller, Bill Osterloth,and Rus Ramberger. Congratulations guys. There was one oddity. Bowers and Dobronski managed to pull their own names from the hat. The fact that they were setting across from each other added to the quandary. Beckel is still scratching his head to figure out how they pulled that off.
We have a number of retirees that are having health problems and need our prayers and remembrances. The ones we know about are Jim Fleming, Gerry DeWitt, Joe Halleman, Rick McGee, Carl Scheske; Ed Stanwich; Joe Trammel; and Joe Windham. Look in on these folks. They will be glad to hear from you.
