THE MAN THAT GOD LOVES-THE ROAD-THE SACRIFICE OF LOVE-THE SHADE OF LOVE

"THE MAN THAT GOD LOVES"       by  Jeff Leslie   6/2/88

This is the man that God loves

This is the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the blood that would cover the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the Son
Who poured out His blood that would cover the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the hand of the innocent Son
Who poured out His blood that would cover the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the nail
That wounded the hand of the innocent Son
Who poured out His blood that would cover the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the love that hammered the nail
That wounded the hand of the innocent Son
Who poured out His blood that would cover the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the God
Who offers His love that hammered the nail
That wounded the hand of the innocent Son
Who poured out His blood that would cover the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the life with a merciful God
Who offers His love that hammered the nail
That wounded the hand of the innocent Son
Who poured out His blood that would cover the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the gift
Of eternal life with a merciful God
Who offers His love that hammered the nail
That wounded the hand of the innocent Son
Who poured out His blood that would cover the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the faith, believing the gift
Of eternal life with a merciful God
Who offers His love that hammered the nail
That wounded the hand of the innocent Son
Who poured out His blood that would cover the sin
That separates the man that God loves

This is the man that God loves
Confessing his faith, receiving the gift
Of eternal life with a merciful God
Who offers His love that hammered the nail
That wounded the hand of the innocent Son
Who poured out His blood that covered the sin
Redeeming the man that God loves

"THE ROAD"   by Jeff Leslie     4/6/94

It was 1967
When I first believed in Christ
And I thought from then till heaven
I would not have cause to cry
When I met with a disaster
Just imagine my surprise
When I went to Christ for answers
He gave this profound reply

"If I don't keep you from falling
Then I'll catch you when you fall
But if you never have a hardship
Then you'll have no strength at all
For it's not an easy pathway
That designs the inner you
But a road that takes pure courage
And great faith to follow through."

So I may not know tomorrow
Or the miles that lie ahead
But step by step I'll follow
With my faith in Christ instead
And if troubles should befall me
Till I'm hanging by a thread
I will put my trust in Jesus
And the words He softly said

"If I don't keep you from falling
Then I'll catch you when you fall
But if you never have a hardship
Then you'll have no strength at all
For it's not an easy pathway
That designs the inner you
But a road that takes pure courage
And great faith to follow through."

"So whenever you are suffering
Just remember with each mile
That a better day is coming
That will make it all worthwhile."

“THE SACRIFICE OF LOVE”   by Jeff Leslie  2/7/91

The Father made the master plan
He knew before the world began
We'd crucify the Son of Man
The Sacrifice of love
And Christ, as into manhood grew,
Would realize his purpose, too
That He must die so He could prove
The Sacrifice of love

In the garden He prayed let this cup pass over
But knew, as God's anointed Son
That He must let His will be done
For there's just one way the chains of sin are broken
Only one way could His kingdom ever come

He made the greatest sacrifice of love
Taking on a world of pain
Though He was not the one to blame
He made the greatest sacrifice of love
Though we fail time and again
He paid the price for all our sin

The soldiers placed the crown of thorns
Upon His head.  Such pain He bore
And down His side the blood would pour
The Sacrifice of love
He cried with spikes in hands and feet
''God, why have you forsaken me?''
And when He died.  It was complete
The Sacrifice of love

He made the greatest sacrifice of love
Taking on a world of pain
Though He was not the one to blame
He made the greatest sacrifice of love
Though we fail time and again
He paid the price for all our sin

And now I know the reason why
He knew that death would one day die

For Jesus lives and now there's victory over death forevermore
He lives and every sacrifice is paid and paid in full
Yes, the Sacrifice of love was paid for all who will receive
He paid the price for all who will believe

Who will believe?

“THE SHADE OF LOVE”  by Jeff Leslie    3/13/04

I thought if I could paint a living portrait of your face
I’d find the shade of love I’m looking for
Then I felt your kiss and the warmth of your embrace
And I realized that love is something more

Love is not in all the colors I’ve been painting
And it’s not among the shades that I can see
The love you give is one I can believe in
It’s a shade that coats my heart and colors me

There’s one thing in my world that I just never understood
And it wasn’t till you loved me that I learned
I tried with every color painting love the best I could
But the colors never loved me in return

Love is not in all the colors I’ve been painting
And it’s not among the shades that I can see
The love you give is one I can believe in
It’s a shade that coats my heart and colors me

I was lost in a world of black and white
Until your love brought true color to my life

Love is not in all the colors I’ve been painting
And it’s not among the shades that I can see
The love you give is one I can believe in
It’s a shade that coats my heart and colors me
