Chapter 2
"This is crap you forced me into this and I really don’t wanna go." Jana said later that day when they were getting ready.
"I said I’d go to that damn concert."
"I really hate this." Jana whined.
"Why? What’s the big deal? I’d do it for you no questions asked."
"I know, and that just makes you the better friend right? But Nick is an ass and cocky as fuck and not to mention tempting as fuck."
"Tempting? How is he tempting?"
"Never mind."
"Tell me."
"Just he’s hot ok, that’s a given. But you know me and boys and shit. Plus-."
"Don’t fucking say it. Don’t fucking say that you and Shawn may get together. Cause you know damn well that he isn’t interested in you he’s just using you."
"Fuck off." Jana replied as someone knocked on the door.
Jana walked out of the bathroom a few minutes after Nikki let the boys in. It took everything in Jana not to comment on how good Nick looked.
"I’m glad you dressed up for me." Nick said looking at Jana.
"Fuck you." Jana retorted as they walked out into the hall.
"Shot gun." Nikki said as they reached AJ’s truck.
"Bull shit. I’m not sitting in the back with Blondie here." Jana said as Nikki got in and Nick grinned at her.
"Where the hell are we going?" Jana asked even more annoyed than earlier.
"Somewhere." Nick whispered seductively in her ear as he put her arm around her.
"Carter I swear to God if you don’t remove your hand I’ll chop it off and beat you with a bloody stump." Jana said glaring at him.
"Feisty."
Jana rolled her eyes as she stared out the window.
"Can’t you two play nice? Gee… you just met." AJ asked looking in the rear view mirror.
"I’d like to play with her." Nick retorted as he grinned at Jana.
"You’re a cocky little fuck." Jana said removing his arm roughly.
"Here we are." AJ announced as the car stopped in front of a Chinese restaurant.
"Chinese?"
"Don’t like it?" AJ asked.
"Yeah I do just not in a Chinese mood. It’s all good though." Jana said as she started to get out.
"Want to go somewhere else with me?" Nick asked with a sexy grin.
"No way in hell you’ll get me alone with you, you horn dog."
"Having fun?" AJ asked Nick.
Nick smiled wide and nodded.
"Can’t you just be nice?" Nikki asked Jana on the other side of the car.
"No."
Nikki shook her head and joined AJ and Nick on the walk to the restaurant.
"Thanks Nikki, what a friend you are. Haven’t you ever heard chicks before dicks?" Jana asked in a loud voice causing other people in the parking lot to stare and the others to laugh.
They were seated in a booth in the back of the restaurant against Jana’s will because she knew she’d end up next to Nick. And she was, he was on the edge and every time she moved away from him he’d get a little closer to her, knowing it was pissing her off.
"So Jana you live here in LA?" Nick asked as they waited for their food.
"Yes."
"What do you do?"
"I’m a writer."
"Is it me or do you just not like talking?"
"It’s you." Jana replied sweetly as AJ and Nikki laughed.
"You know I’ve been trying to be nice to you but you are just a bitch."
"No shit, you are not trying to be nice you are cocky as hell."
"You just bring it out in me."
Jana rolled her eyes.
"So Nikki how long are you here for?" AJ asked.
"I got here two days ago and I planned on staying a few weeks. I wasn’t really sure to begin with." Nikki replied as the waitress came with their food.
Nikki and AJ carried on a nice conversation with Nick occasionally adding something and Jana just sitting there. She’d catch Nick looking at her and then when she looked at him he’d look away. That was driving her nuts she felt like she was in high school again.
"Nick stop fucking looking at me." Jana finally said looking directly into his eyes.
"What are you talking about?" Nick asked innocently.
"I can see out of the corner of my eye dip shit."
"Ok whatever you say I wasn’t looking at you, you were looking at me."
"Oh give me a break." Jana replied as she rolled her eyes.
"Why in the hell are you so bitchy? I haven’t done anything to you."
"You’re cocky as fuck."
Nick just rolled his eyes in reply as Jana sighed.
Jana started to scoot closer to Nick to get out of the bench but she wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of actually asking so she decided she’d just push him out. Nick caught on and pushed back finally Jana put her foot against the wall and pushed causing Nick to fall on the floor. She didn’t say anything as she stepped over him until Nick grabbed her ankle making her fall to her knees. By that time a lot of people in the restaurant were staring and Nikki and AJ couldn’t control their laughter.
"You’re a bastard."
"Bitch, you knocked me in the floor. You could have just asked for me to move."
"I didn’t want to I got a great deal of satisfaction seeing you lay on the floor. Now let go of my ankle."
"No, you just wanted to make a scene."
"Yeah Nick that’s it I wanted to draw attention to myself. Just how did you know that?" Jana retorted sarcastically.
"You know Jana is just doing this to him because she really likes him." Nikki whispered in AJ’s ear.
"Seriously?" AJ asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah she just doesn’t want him to know. She’s crazy when it comes to relationships and stuff. But she told me he was tempting that’s why she didn’t want to come tonight."
"Oh."
"Nick god damn let go of my damn ankle you’re cutting off circulation."
"I kind of like this though you on your knees."
Jana rolled her eyes and she started to kick him.
"Ok now you’re just going to piss me off."
"Oh no I’m so scared." She replied as she finally freed herself from his grasp. She stood up and walked in the direction of the bathroom.
"Damn she’s a bitch."
"She’s doing it on purpose." Nikki said and quickly covered her mouth.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"Nikki tell me."
"She is doing it on purpose so like you won’t like her and she can be bitchy and not like you."
"Huh?" AJ and Nick asked at the same time.
"She’s just being bitchy so you won’t develop feelings for her or anything."
"Why?"
"I don’t know its Jana she’s crazy." Nikki replied as Jana started to walk back to the booth and sat on the edge of the seat.
"Ok what in the fuck were you guys talking about? As soon as I started over here you all shut up and tried to look innocent and it doesn’t fit any of you." Jana said breaking the silence.
"We were just talking about how the night is still young and we should go to do something else then Nikki said you wouldn’t want to." AJ replied.
"Well Nikki is right; you two are hitting it off wonderfully so I think that’s my cue to go."
"Where you going?" Nikki asked as Jana stood up.
"The hotel." Jana replied as she walked off.
"Nick you want to come with us?" AJ asked as they walked outside towards AJ’s truck.
"No just drop me off at the hotel."
AJ nodded as they all got in.
"You sure Nick what are you going to do?"
"Sleep, I have to get up early."
"Ok man. See you later."
"Bye you two kids have fun don’t get into too much trouble."
"Bye Nick." Nikki said as they drove off.
Nick walked in the hotel slowly thinking about nothing in particular until he reached the elevator. He smiled to himself as it started to move after he hit the button for the fifth floor. He walked out into the hall after the elevator stopped and headed to the end of the hall. He reached the door and knocked, he stood there impatiently waiting for the person inside to answer the door. He grinned when he saw the handle on the door moving. He stood in front of the door when it opened and a pair of shocked blue eyes stared at him. Before the person could say anything he quickly leaned down and covered her lips with his in a passionate kiss.
