Nick rolled over reaching out for Kaitlyn but felt nothing. He groaned as he opened his eyes glancing over at the clock that sat on her bedside table. It was seven in the morning. He shook his head and then sat up smiling as he ran his hand through his hair.
Kaitlyn walked out of the bathroom in a pair of low cut jeans and baby tee. Nick raised his eyebrows as he watched her walk into her room. He got up and walked over to her. She looked him up and down and then back up at him.
“Hi,” He said smiling.
Kaitlyn stepped back pressing her lips together, “Hey,”
“What?”
Kaitlyn shook her head, “Nothing.”
“Then why did you step back?”
“Morning breath?”
Nick shook his head and walked into the bathroom; Kaitlyn watched him strangely and then followed him. He was putting toothpaste on his index finger. Kaitlyn busted out laughing as she watched him brush his teeth with his finger.
Nick finished and turned around grinning widely at her. “Better?”
Kaitlyn smiled as she bit her bottom lip and then stepped closer to him putting her hands on the sides of his face and said, “Breathe on me.”
Nick laughed shaking his head and then took her hands in his and leaned down kissing her gently.
“Minty fresh,” Kaitlyn said grinning as they separated.
Nick shook his head smiling as he watched her walk into the living room.
Chapter 35
Kaitlyn opened her eyes slowly to see Nick sleeping peacefully next to her; she smiled as she moved a strand of his hair out of his face. She looked at him for a minute and noticed her hand was on his… lower half she quickly moved her hand away and then got up off the bed and made her way into the bathroom.
Men. Funny Creatures they are. Uh huh. I don’t think I’ve ever had any guy ever express that much, wait… nope. Is that even what I wanted to say? I’m just so… baffled? I don’t know I just feel weird. Nick makes me feel weird. But a good weird. Is that possible? See, I make no sense right? I know. I’m just a rambling right now. See, another thing Nick makes me do ramble on no end.
I just have to say this for the record. The bed head look agrees with him. God. Does he have some secret flaws? Somewhere? Anywhere? I got it; he’s probably horrible in bed. Knowing my luck that’s probably the farthest from the truth. Damn it.
“So I’ll see you later tonight?” Nick asked as they stood up against their cars facing each other.
Kaitlyn looked down at her feet and then slowly looked back up at him and shrugged.
“Be ready at seven,” Nick said grinning.
“What do you have planned?”
Nick shrugged as he crossed his arms.
“Fine,” Kaitlyn said crossing her arms.
Nick shook his head and then stopped and just stared at her.
Kaitlyn stared back at him and said, “I have to go.”
Nick nodded but didn’t stop staring at her.
“Stop it.”
“What?” Nick asked laughing.
“You’re creeping me out.”
“I can’t help it, you’re beautiful,” Nick said sincerely.
Kaitlyn turned around before she got into her car and looked at him smiling slightly.
“What?”
“How do you do that?”
“Do what?”
“That,” Kaitlyn said waving her hand in his direction.
“What? Compliment you?”
“Not just any ordinary normal compliment,” Kaitlyn said putting her hands on her hips.
“Huh?”
“Never mind thank you.”
Nick smiled and said, “You’re welcome I’m only speaking the truth. I would never lie to you.”
Kaitlyn smiled and shook her head and then got into her car. “I’ll see you later,” she said wiggling her eyebrows as she closed the car door.
Nick smiled and walked around to the driver’s side of his car and got in.
Ok, I’m having a realization here. Did Nick sleep in the same bed as me last night? And nothing sexual happened? Who knew I had such control. Crazy. Isn’t it? Or not? I don’t know lord, but you know I have to confess that during the night I think I definitely tried to cop a feel on him. Maybe that’s why I woke up with my hand on his lower region. See, I don’t have as much control as I thought. I’m normal and human and female and hormonal and I did the only normal thing any other girl would do right? Yeah. Uh huh. Sure.
But I don’t want to go there just yet, you know? I mean I may think about it but seriously what normal girl doesn’t? But like I’ve said before I want it to definitely mean something. I want to feel something strong for him before I even think about it. I feel like I’m a broken record. Saying this over and over again, but I just have to get it across to myself along with everyone else I guess.
So I wonder what Prince Charming has planned for tonight. Wow, I haven’t called him that in a while. It actually feels… nice. Man, the things he’s doing to me. He’s driving me crazy. But in a good way.
“So where are we going Prince Charming?” Kaitlyn asked grinning at Nick.
Nick looked over at her for a minute and then looked back at the road. “You haven’t called me that in a while.”
“I know,” Kaitlyn replied softly still grinning at him.
“How come?”
She just shrugged.
Nick nodded and smiled as he kept his eyes on the road.
“So where are we going?”
“Have you had your apartment checked for like bugs or anything?”
“Why?”
“Last night I felt like something was crawling on me a few times.”
Kaitlyn bit her bottom lip as she looked out the window hoping Nick didn’t see her face turning a nice shade of pink.
Nick grinned as he watched Kaitlyn out of the corner of his eye.
“Are you avoiding my question?”
“What question?”
“The one I’ve asked twice, where are we going?”
“Oh I wasn’t avoiding it. I’d never avoid you,” Nick replied grinning at her.
Kaitlyn sighed as crossed her arms leaning back in the seat.
“We’re almost there.”
Kaitlyn nodded as stared straight ahead.
Nick smiled and he pulled into the big parking lot of the shopping center.
“We are going shopping?”
“No,” Nick said as he headed past all the stores over to the clutter or restaurants and then pulled into the Chuck E. Cheese parking lot.
“Chuck E. Cheese?” Kaitlyn asked looked at him.
Nick grinned and said, “You bet baby.”
“Ok,” Kaitlyn replied as she got out of the car.
Nick walked around to the other side of the car and smiled at Kaitlyn as he grabbed her hand and led her inside.
"Seriously Chuck E. Cheese?"
"Do you have a problem with Chuck?"
"No," Kaitlyn sighed shaking her head.
"It'll be fun," Nick said wrapping his arm around her shoulder as they walked over to the nearest empty table.
Kaitlyn rolled her eyes and said, “Yeah sure.”
I haven't been to Chuck E. Cheese in so long. Probably since I was little. No. I never went there when I was little. I went once when I was 15 I think. And that's all.
Then he wouldn't let me pay for anything. Jerk. Not even the games I wanted to play. Of course I had to throw a teeny tiny fit because I did not want him to buy my dinner and then pay for the 50 games I had planned on playing. But all he has to do is smile that pretty little smile of his and bat those eyelashes and I'm a goner. Hell I think I'm a goner any way you look at it when it comes to him. It’s actually quite pathetic when you think about it.
“I apologize,” Kaitlyn said as she got into Nick’s car.
Nick looked over at Kaitlyn and asked, “What for?”
“I thought the idea of going to Chuck E. Cheese was totally lame and I didn’t think I’d have that good of a time but I was wrong. It was fantastic thank you.”
Nick smiled wide and said, “You’re welcome anytime. I’m here to please you.”
“Me?” Kaitlyn asked smiling.
Nick just nodded.
“Nah, I think you’re here to please millions of teenage girls,” Kaitlyn replied laughing.
“You think?”
“Yeah, that’s all you’re good at.”
“Thanks you’re too kind.”
“Well ya know I try,” Kaitlyn said grinning.
Nick shook his head laughing and then looked over at Kaitlyn and smiled at her and then he looked back at the road.
“So where did you get the idea of going to Chuck E. Cheese?”
Nick shrugged, “No clue it just came to me. I get tired of the same ole thing you know and well you’re a special girl you deserve a special evening.”
Kaitlyn smiled as she looked back over at Nick and then out the window.
Nick looked over at Kaitlyn again and smiled and then looked back at the road still smiling.
“Here we are,” Nick said as he pulled into the parking space in front of her building.
“Thanks,” Kaitlyn said softly.
“You’re welcome.”
Kaitlyn licked her lips and then leaned in giving Nick a kiss on the cheek. “Bye,” She whispered as she opened the door and then hopped out of the car.
Nick smiled and sighed as he watched her walk into her apartment. He sat there long after she went in just smiling.
