“Morning sunshine you’re late.”
Kaitlyn looked around her room as she wiped her wet hair out of her face and then down at her clock. She was late. “Damn it,” She said as she started to run around her room throwing clothes everything.
“Nice dream?”
Kaitlyn froze and turned around looking at Kaylee, who had the biggest grin on her face, with wide eyes, “What are you talking about?”
“Nick,” Kaylee replied moaning dramatically as she mocked Kaitlyn.
“Oh my god,” Kaitlyn said as she sat down.
“Must have been hot you never talk in your sleep.”
“You have no idea seriously, it was worse than first one.”
“Damn I want your brain when I go to bed,” Kaylee replied laughing.
“What?”
“You have the hottest sex dreams lately.”
“Oh geez.”
“Granted, I’m getting the real thing while all you have is the dream.”
“Too much information.”
“You so know that I was,” Kaylee replied rolling her eyes.
“Gross,” Kaitlyn said as she turned around pulling off her tank top and then putting her bra on and then she started looking for a shirt to wear.
“So are you going to tell me about it?”
“It was different.”
“How?”
“He like woke me up using baby, which I can’t even say anything about that. And then he told me he had a surprise for me and like we went to the beach and he was like were going to watch the sunrise and then we started kissing and yeah.”
“Awe, Nick is romantic in your dreams. I bet he isn’t like that in real life,” Kaylee replied laughing.
“You never know.”
“I doubt it, I’ve seen him dress.”
Kaitlyn stopped what she was doing and looked at Kaylee with her hand on her hip. “What does that have to do with anything?”
“Have you seen the boy dress himself? Not that great.”
“I don’t get it,” Kaitlyn said shaking her head.
“Never mind,” Kaylee replied laughing.
“Ugh, I think I’m just going back to bed,” Kaitlyn said as she flopped back down on her bed.
“Wow, that dream must have done a number on you, huh?”
“No, I’m tired.”
“I’m sure,” Kaylee replied laughing.
“Seriously,” Kaitlyn said sighing.
“Man ok the dream hasn’t done a number on you Nick has. You’re planning on missing another class and you’ve never ever missed class and now since you met Nick you’re just a rebel,” Kaylee said laughing.
“Shut up,” Kaitlyn said as she lifted her head up slightly glaring at Kaylee.
“Whatever,” Kaylee replied rolling her eyes.
“So? Staying home?”
Kaitlyn groaned and said, “Ugh, I guess.”
“You guess?”
“Yeah, I’m going back to sleep,” Kaitlyn said as she curled up in her bed pulling her comforter over her head.
Chapter 17
Kaitlyn shot up out of bed when her face was met with ice cold water. She stood up and glared at Kaylee who was holding an empty glass and wearing a big smile.
God must hate me. I seriously have no clue what’s going on in my head these days. Maybe I’m just having withdraws. From what though? I’m not saying it, I’ll just think it. I know everyone else in the world knows what I’m talking about so I don’t have to say it anyway. Ugh… I wanna kick Nick in the shin because he’s invaded my mind and my train of thought. He has corrupted me. I’m now dirty because of him, ok now that didn’t sound right. But my thoughts are dirty because of him. Damn him. Yep, I’m just going to blame anything and everything I can think of on him. Because I can.
And I’m going to make an effort to call my mother today. I need to talk to her tell her what’s really going on and just brace myself for her disappointment. Ugh… I can’t wait. Can you smell the enthusiasm just dripping off of that sentence seriously? It was so not there. But you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. I have to do that and I have to do something about these damn dreams. You really think my subconscious is trying to tell me something? But isn’t it like the dream you have isn’t what you really want but like to some degree? Does that even make sense? I need a book on dreams, that’s something I should invest in most definitely.
“Oh man do you even know how nice it is to sleep in like that,” Kaitlyn asked no one in particular as she walked into the living room putting her hair into a tighter ponytail. She looked around the room scratching her side when someone knocked on the door. She looked around the room once more and then slowly walked over to the door. “Kyle.”
“Hi, is Kaylee here?”
“Uh, she was here earlier not sure what happened to her you can come on in,” Kaitlyn replied as she moved out of the way letting him into their apartment.
“Alright,” Kyle said as he walked into the apartment and straight into the living room.
“Kaylee?” Kaitlyn asked as she walked into the hallway.
“In here,” Kaylee replied from the bathroom.
“She’s in the bathroom,” Kaitlyn said as she walked back into the living room as she sat down on the opposite end of the couch.
Kyle nodded as he looked around the apartment and then he eyed Kaitlyn a little and said, “So Nick Carter is your boyfriend?”
Kaitlyn looked back at Kyle wide eyed, “No, where did you hear that?”
“Kaylee,” Kyle replied smiling at her.
“Should have known, we’re just friends,” Kaitlyn said as she pulled her legs underneath her.
Kyle nodded again, “Too bad he’d be a lucky guy if he was your boyfriend.”
Kaitlyn smiled politely at him thinking that Kaylee needed to get out of the bathroom soon.
“Oh my god, Kaitlyn I advise you not to go into the bathroom for a good fifteen minutes I just pinched a massive- Kyle when did you get here?”
Kaitlyn pressed her lips together as Kaylee’s face turned a bright shade of pink.
“Just got here I missed you.”
“Awe, so sweet,” Kaylee said as she sat down next to him.
“So why shouldn’t I go into the bathroom?” Kaitlyn asked laughing why Kaylee shot her a glare and then the bird.
“Why haven’t you talked to your mother?”
Kaitlyn glared back at Kaylee while Kaylee just grinned back at her. Kaitlyn rolled her eyes as she turned her head the other way.
“So what’s up?” Kaylee asked Kyle as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“I think I may vomit,” Kaitlyn mumbled as she got up off the couch.
“Yeah go have another dirty dream,” Kaylee yelled after her as Kaitlyn walked into her room.
Kaitlyn slammed her door shut behind her and then flopped down onto her bed grabbing her cell phone. She stared at it for a minute and then dialed her mother’s phone number.
“Mom?”
“Hi sweetie, I was beginning to get a little worried haven’t talk to you in a while.”
“Yeah, I’ve been a little busy.”
“Oh yeah? I’m sorry baby; hope you’re getting enough sleep.”
“Yeah mom I’m getting enough sleep.”
“Have you talked to Nick?”
Kaitlyn cringed at the sound of his name, not even two minutes into a conversation and she has already brought up his name.
“Honey?”
“Yeah, uh mom I have to tell you.”
“What? Nick is busy?”
Kaitlyn was quiet.
“Honey?”
“Uh, yeah he’s busy,” Kaitlyn replied smacking her forehead.
“Well good I was planning on making a trip to see you anyway this week so we can do something during the week instead of the weekend.”
“What?”
“Yeah, I was going to come Wednesday.”
“Really?”
“Uh huh, that’s why I wanted to talk to you.”
“So you’re coming this Wednesday? As in the day after tomorrow?”
“Yes dear you sound as if you don’t want me to come.”
“No it’s not that I haven’t seen you in so long of course I want you to come.”
“Well ok then its set I’ll see you and Nick Wednesday.”
“Alright mom.”
“Love you honey.”
“Love you too mom.”
“Bye sweet heart,” her mother said as she hung up the phone.
Kaitlyn hung up her phone and then grabbed her pillow and smashed it against her face as she screamed into it.
I’m such an idiot I’d really like to just shoot myself in the foot. Anyone have a gun I can borrow? Seriously, yeah right. I’m so scared of guns. Ever since I was little, one time my best friend, Gregg, and I were playing around the house while my parents were outside planting flowers we ran into my room and then into my parent’s bedroom for now apparent reason really but we were just messing around and Gregg found my dad’s gun. No he didn’t shoot himself. He did however shoot off the gun and it went into the wall. And I don’t know just the sound and the just everything that happened in that split second just scared the crap out of me for life. Ever since then I’ve just liked to stray away from guns if at all possible. So there ya go.
But anyway I’d like to torture myself in any way possible really. I’m really somewhat disgusted with myself. What kind of person have I turned into, really? And what in the hell am I going to do to make this all better? Is that even possible? I’m going to go smash my face up against my pillow again and just have myself a good scream, hell maybe a few good screams.
Kaitlyn laid on her bed playing with her cell phone in one hand as her other tugged on her hair repeatedly. She didn’t know what she was doing really or why she was just trying to doing something. She jumped nearly a foot into the air when her cell phone rang, “Hello?”
“Hey.”
“Nick?”
“What were you excepting someone else?”
“Prince Charming,” Kaitlyn said sighing.
“Hey I thought that was who I am.”
“Oh yes, that slipped my mind. How could I forget that?”
“I don’t know but I’m somewhat offended.”
“Ok when you are fully offended I’ll stop.”
Nick just laughed in reply.
“So what do I owe the pleasure of this call Mr. Carter?”
“Pleasure? I can give you pleasure.”
“Oh boy. You are such a guy. And well a cheesy one for that matter.”
“Ouch.”
“Yeah well you deserved that couldn’t you have thought of something a little clever?”
“Probably but sometimes when I think for long periods of time it starts to hurt.”
Kaitlyn rolled onto her back and just started laughing hysterically, “Wow I can’t believe you admitted to that I always had a feeling you hurt yourself when you thought. Now I’m so glad I know before I sent out those wedding invitations.”
“The wedding is off?” Nick asked as he gasped a little.
“I can’t have dumb kids.”
“But you’re smart.”
“Indeed I am. But the male chromosomes do add in there somewhere I can’t take the chances on Prince Charming.”
“Damn,” Nick replied laughing and then they were quiet for a minute.
“So… Nick?”
“So… Kaitlyn?”
“You doing anything Wednesday?”
