Started in December 2000, named That One Band, four guys (Brandon, Josh, Mark, and Joe) began playing together in the sanctuary of Josh's church, Southwest Church of the Nazarene. The four began playing covers of MxPx and re-doing certain praise songs. The first show was February 24, 2001 at The Gathering Place, who were excellent friends for letting us play even though we were not up to par. Several months later however, Brandon decided to leave the band, leaving the other three searching for a new name (That One Band was taken, can you believe that?). During a service at Joe's church, Mark and Joe heard a sermon about being weak so that God can be strong through us, so we changed our name to The Weaklings.

The Weaklings played many a show through the summer and worked on honing their skills as musicians. Much time was spent perfecting the songs that they had and learning how to play together better. Summer rolled by, and along came fall, with the recording of their first album, "From Our Home To Yours" recorded at Bridges Recording Studio. Shortly after, Mark's twin brother Matt quit his prior band, More Like Christ, and joined up with the fabulous three to make a more prominent sound for the band. Yet again however, they found that their name was taken by a previous band, so in a fit of mental intuition, Josh came up with the name Five Story Fall.

Five Story Fall has changed greatly since the beginning. Some people even like us and come to more than one show now. We appear on the Future Destination Records compilation "Distance is Deceiving", and are now currently signed to IndiePop Records based in Indiana. We're looking to have a full-length record out by June 2002, look for it!
