My 1984 VW Rabbit Convertible

In The Car Show

Decided to enter my Rabbit in a local festival car show (2003). Was the second time to be entered in the past 3 years. Figured since I had done so much work to it and since there was a Euro category added this time that it might fare well. Hmmmm....to my surprise...Euro also takes in Japanese cars and Mercury Cougars???? Who would have thought? Needless to say...she didn't win. But she still looked mighty pretty sitting out there. And I had tons of compliments and questions from the crowds of people looking.

Oh and in case you are wondering...
1st place went to a 1999 Mercury (American) Cougar

2nd Nissan (Japanese) with flames down the side

3rd to a Suzuki (Japanese) Swift

These were the cars entered into the Euro category with my EUROPEAN Volkswagen....and I didn't even place. Go Figure!!

Oh Well there is always next year. And I picked up my score sheet..scored 74 out of possible 100 points...not too bad considering there is still more work to be done. Maybe next time!!
