These are my free crochet patterns, ones that I've made up; & enjoyed through the years. I enjoy creating my own patterns, it makes what I'm crocheting; all the more special. Enjoy, but please keep in mind that these are for your personal use only. Thanks
This coaster, I have crocheted from 4 ply cotton crochet yarn, such as "Sugar N' Cream" or "Peaches N' Cream" yarns. It works up so easily, and looks so nice; a very sturdy coaster. You'll love it!
1 ball 4 ply cotton crochet yarn
"G" Hook
Note: entire coaster is worked in back loops, creating a "ridged" effect. Very stylish!
Ch 25, turn.
1) Hdc in each back loop across, ch2; turn.
2) Hdc in each back loop across, ch2; turn.
3 thru 10) Repeat row 2. Ch1, do not turn.
Edging: 3 Sc's in corner space, and 2 sc in each space down side; * 3sc in corner, 2 sc's in each space * around. Fasten off, tuck in ends.
Note: Another way I have crocheted these, is to alternate between hdc's & sc's on every other row. It also works up nicely, and makes a very attractive mug mate.
You can take a small amount of another cotton yarn, and do the edging with that.
You could also make a small design in the edging, by doing a sc in a stitch, then ch2, sc in next stitch. Sc in following st, ch2, sc in next stitch.*Around; making sc-ch2-sc in each corner space. This looks very pretty.
