Greg Allman: Luke's Team

Awards and Accolades

Hockey Info...If there were an award for the most surprising player of the year, it clearly would have gone to Greg Allman last season. Greg, who split time in goal for Brad?s team the previous two seasons, was traded to Luke?s team in the offseason for TJ Meyer where he was thrust into an offensive role. He responded with a career season in which he scored more points than he had in his previous two years combined. He took much needed pressure off of his team?s captain and forced the opposition to pay attention to him. While technically a defenseman, Luke?s team does not really have defensemen and offensemen, but rather everywheremen. Greg has fit into this role with ease and continues to play with a spark. Greg is known as a dangerous scorer, but he is also a brilliant playmaker, as he appears poised to overtake Grant Hulett for third place in career assists. He is also challenging Brad for the title of best hitter. Greg revisits the net rarely now, but when he does, he is one of the best in the league. This season, he will concentrate on his offensive statistics while maintaining his strong defensive prowess. Greg has tremendous speed, which makes him one of the best at breaking up the breakaway. Greg has stepped into a leadership role on Luke?s team and will be a key figure in getting his team back to the top.
