Brad Meyer: Brad's Team--Captain

Awards and Accolades

Hockey Info... Over the years, we?ve learned not to be surprised by Brad Meyer. He won the Hart trophy in only his second full season in the league and last season, he took the award again while leading his team to its first ever championship season. Since he entered the league in the 1991-1992 season, Brad has perpetually been known as the second best player in the league. Brad had always been tagged as the physical two-way center, having won back-to-back Selke trophies, but last year, he let his offensive talents really shine through, scoring 22 goals and 39 points. He has been the best setup man in the league and is the career leader in assists (52). He has been the one constant on a revolving door team, but seems to thrive on the lack of consistency. He has the ability to adjust to any type of player that happens to be on his team. He has benefited greatly the past three seasons from having a consistent sniper on his wing, but the rest of his team seemed to change from season to season and week to week. If Brad can continue the dominance that he displayed last season, another championship for his team is not to far-fetched of an idea. His most valuable assets are his power and his speed. He showed his power often last season, parking himself in front of the net and scoring off deflections and rebounds while his speed allowed him to get back on defense after grinding in front of the net. This season, he is expected to duplicate his splendid play of last season, remaining a factor in every game and the most physical presence in the league.
