Charles Albert Mohr

Charles A. Mohr was born in Austin County, Texas. He was the youngest of 5 children. He was only 5 when his father, Michael Mohr, died. His mother died in 1879 in Austin County. The 1880 census shows Charles, his older brother John and his older Sister Mary (aged 21) living together in a house in Austin County. When their mother died, Mary could not by law be the guardian of the John and Charles so the court appointed William Clemmons as guardian of John and Charles and their parents estate of 200 acres of homestead. Charles is still in Austin County in 1883 when he sells land to his brother John. The 1900 census shows Charles living in a boarding house in Paris, Lamar County, Texas. He is at this time divorced. The 1910 census shows him married a second time to Mary Anderson for 8 years. They have a 2 year old son named Charles Emile Mohr. A 20 year old son named John from Charles Albert’s first marriage is living with them as is Mary’s mother, Margaret C. Anderson, aged 60. Charles Albert’s occupation in the 1900 census is listed as a “Saloon Keeper”. In the 1910 census, his occupation is listed as “City Directory Man”. Charles A. Mohr died in 1916 in Paris Texas
