You looked at me with a tear in your eye.
I asked you, "my sister why do you cry?"
As you came to me, your tears fell like rain.
I knew in my heart, he'd done it AGAIN.

I had BEGGED you many times to leave.
Why, to him, did you still cleave?
I opened my heart, I opened my door.
You just said, "He promised to do it no more".

I PRAYED, I BEGGED, I THREATENED, I PLEADED.
My prayers and my words ALL went unheeded.
I reported him once, I gave that a try.
You just looked at the law and said, "It's a lie".

I LOVED YOU SO MUCH, I tried everything.
Our friendship, TO YOU, meant less than that ring.
He hurt you so much, YOUR BODY, YOUR SOUL.
Why couldn't you see it was taking its toll?

I was there the day he proclaimed his love.
Swearing, to all, you were sent from above.
I heard you say with ALL you heart.
"I am yours forever, till death us do part."

That was the day you became husband and wife.
Now with fists of steel he has taken your life.
In joy, you left here, the day you were married.
Today when you leave, by six you'll be carried.

I tried to stop this! I honestly did.
Now here I stand, while they close the lid.
Somehow I just knew, what for you, was in store.
You were right my friend, HE WILL DO IT NO MORE.
