KCAR Launch Report: July 2001 Sport Launch

Statistics for this launch:
Total impulse expended: 3,759.2Ns, like a partial L motor. There were four clustered flights (#40, #74, #95, #100), and three multi-stage flights (#12, #80, #151). There were 28 families for a total of 39 rocketeers.

If you have pictures taken during this launch please let us know so that they can be posted on the web site. If you can scan them and save them as GIFs or JPGs that would be great. If not, a few of the club members have scanners and can get the pictures into digital format. Send e-mail for details.

Bill’s Saturn under silk — It ejected both ’chutes normally but unfortunately the upper section separated from the harness; Bill mentioned later that the harness itself broke. The black spot near the top of the image is the upper section parachute; the upper section can be seen near the bottom.

Dave Lucas and his home brew rocket made from pressed card-stock and foam. The boost on this glider was quite interesting with a sort of air loop. The pop-pod stripped the ’chute on ejection, but the glider settled down into a nice glide.
