Ride Report
2-12-00 Only had an hour to ride today so me and Steve went to a local area called the STEPS to ride at. It's just about an acre where people go off-roading. Doesn't sound like much fun does it?? Well, when it's been raining for two days straight it is! It was really muddy, really wet, and really fun! Did everything there. I finally did this thing we call the gravity cavity, it was really easy, a little intimidating, but easy. I rode almost all the way up it one handed. Our bikes got pretty muddy, it was easy to clean though. About 6 or 7 different groups of people were there, only one other dirtbike there. I don't think it's worth goin back now that I can do everything there, but it was still fun!
2-14-00 Went to Carnegie today, the most local real riding area. It rained most of the morning, so when we got there it was suprising to see that there was barely any wetness visible. I was suprised to see that the creek was raging, since i'd never seen it full before. We went over to a pretty easy, pretty fun jump first. Mine and Steve's moms came over in the car and used two full roles of film.(I'll have some posted soon) We them went off too a pretty cool hill jump, which was sort of hard to do well in the wet conditions. After that we just rode around on the trails. I took special care to stay out of the puddles because I didn't want to spend anymore time than I had to to cleaning up my bike. Well to make a short story shorter, I tried to go up a really muddy hill not realizing the deathly conditions. I got 2/3 of the way up the hill than flipped the bike! I rolled with it a couple of times and ended up 10 feet below it, It was so muddy I had to dig foot holes and it took me a couple of minutes just to get to the bike. I got it flipped around and up again. As I walked it down the hill, the mud-slicked tires gave out and the handlebar pinned my leg to the ground. I had no leverage and it took me forever to get out. I finally got out and waddled my way down the hill! So much for staying clean, me and my bike were covered in mud, the worst stickiest mud ever! It took me 2 hours to clean up. It wasn't funny at the time, but now that I look back, it was quite hillarious. Had a ton of fun. I'm getting my wisdom teethout on friday, but I may be well enough to ride on Monday so check back for more entries.
2-14-00....3-4-01 Obviously i haven't updated this site in a long time, but my friends are all making sites, and I have lots of free time, so what the heck..It's been more than a year and i've gotten just a "little bit better" at riding in that time. I ride at carnegie and club moto alot now, and up at my friend shanes house, all i really do now is jump and do tricks. I can do all the basic tricks and am proud to be able to say i've done all the jumps at club moto except for the Up-hill triple, i think next time i go i'm gonna try it out though. I got a new bike too, i ride a '96 RM250 now, it's pretty cool. I also have my first race coming up, it's in the Oakland Arena, it's an Arenacross race, i'm excited, i'm hopin to get a top 3 finish, we'll just have to wait and see though...
