Friends Poetry Page

This first poem was written by my very good friend since 5th grade. We recently talked on the phone, and it is amazing to both of us that we have known each other for over 22 years. That is more then 1/2 my life. I think that it sums up quite well what friendships and relationships are all about. Please enjoy this poem and the ones that follow. *S*

~ ME AND YOU™ ~
By Dawn Marie (1983)

Sometime I'll have to show my feelings; I know that I will hide.
My nature is sweet and shy; to different to be mine.
My life has changed; direction unknown.
I'll take which way will come to me; Although my thoughts are blown.
My future still so far away; I'll adjust; I know that is true.
But what's a life -- a life excluding you? Please be kind, let me tell you this.
We'll be the best of friends; that's what a friendship is.
Se please, please take me as I am.
I can not change my life right now.
Unless you guide and show me how.
So if on my road to life I see a detour approaching me.
I'll take a change -- a change to learn and live a life -- the life I yearn.

~ FEAR AND LOVE™ ~
AmandaJane

When you find that special someone,
You want to let them know,
How much you care,
How deeply your love runs for them,
How you couldn't possibly live without them,
And You want them to show you all these in return,
You hope,
Dream,
Pray,
That this love will never go,
You hold on so dearly to it,
So scared to let go.

~ PASSIONATE HAPPINESS™ ~
Hustler

Our bodies slammed together in the throws of passion
The heat from our bodies steamed the windows
We rocked gently like the waves of the ocean
And you buried your screams in the pillows.

As the thunder of our storm continued through the night
And our muscles ached with pleasure
I knew that this was so right
But thrust deeply once more for good measure.

I kissed you deeply as you moaned
and I tightly squeezed your hands
I began to breathe deeply and groaned
Then I crumbled upon after I met your demands!

You fell asleep on my shoulder
And I watched you as you dreamt
I could see us together as we both grew older
And lay there awake and content.

~ CASTLE IN THE SAND™ ~
Rarest Beauty

Brilliantly forged upon the gorge
Was a castle in the sand
Grain by grain it was the same
As the ones built so grand

Envisioned within, with greatest chagrin
Were people just as you or I
Going about their day, as they may
As long as their castle stayed dry

But outside of course, loomed a force
That threatened their very home
They doubted its power, a piddling shower
That would bury their castle in foam

But with time, the sun did climb
Along with the fateful tide
And in went the keep, into the deep
With all the imaginary people inside

~ TRUE LOVE CAN BE™ ~
Mysterious One

True love can be a flickering candle within your soul
that burns deeply within making you content and whole
it brightens your life in every possible way
while demininshing the blue and darkened skies of gray
but when it is completly blind or just a game right from the start
that eventualy mauls the mind and scars the heart
then it takes some time to heal when all falls apart
and when that time comes you will then realize
that no matter who, when, where, or whatever the season
all things will happen for a particular unknown reason
then there will come a time that you will end up to be
exactly how you always wanted to be
except better...

~ BEAUTY FADES™ ~
////BEAST\\\\

A sunset will fade into a darkening sky.
A flower will wilt and fall from the stem.
A snowflake will melt against the ground.
A rainbow will dissolve with the mist.
All things must pass over time.
What beauty do they leave behind?
What, if not the memories?
Cherish these memories, else the beauty fades.

Not all poetry that is written is understood the same by the different reader. What makes poetry unique is that each person can take what they see behind the written word and apply the thought, feeling or vision to their own life. It is with great warmth that I feel for these friends and acquaintances of mine that permitted me to post their poetry on Aerial's Dreams. Not all writers are capable if sharing their work so generously, so please, take the time to tell them that you enjoyed their poem should you ever see them in Joe's Diner. Thank You. *sweet smile* Please use this LINK to return to my poetry page, and from there you can move through the rest of Aerial's Dreams. *S* Or, should this be the last page that you visited, please sign my Guesbook before you leave. *Huge Hugs* Marie.
