VANUATU

May 12 continued

As we continued to walk through shops we kept noticing this obsession with American iconography.

We found out later it has to do with the fact that Americans were stationed in Vanuatu at the end of World War II.

This was the strangest example, where a pair of shorts had the image of American currency sewn on.

Upon closer inspection we find that it's the ever popular $1000 bill but it reads "One Hundred". Very interesting...

This "Rainbow Smash" machine was in a stationary store. I can't imagine drinking anything that was black!

Kids playing ball in a park near the waterfront.

Brendan at the park with Iririki behind him.

This is Olympic Burgers, where we stopped and had soft serve

The sign reads "Ice Creams"

We stopped by LTP later that day and found out that we'd be leaving the next morning on a cargo boat for the island of Nguna. Brendan checks out his mask and snorkel in the hot tub to make sure there are no leaks!
