A Walk Through The Royal Botanical Gardens

Since I haven't taken any pictures since the Easter Show, I had to go back in time and put some up from a walk I took through the gardens back on April 8th.

The Domain Gate to the gardens

This fountain has drinking fountains on four sides - and today I found it with a little kid attached to each one!

Some kind of lilly or iris...

Palm Grove - there are apparently 180 species of palms in this part of the garden.

There are tons of these spiders at eye level all over the gardens

Here's the scoop on the bats

Roosting bats

The bats have caused severe defoliation in the gardens, as can be seen in this tree, so they use some sort of friendly method to discourage them from roosting there.

This treetop is FULL of them - but no leaves.

A closeup. They are actually brown and fuzzy on their bodies.

Me and the garden

The pigeons here, for whatever reason, sit down like this a lot. Sometimes you'll come across one on the sidewalk, just sitting there. It's really strange.

I was trying to get this little baby duck to get close enough so I could take a picture of it, but to no avail.
