T_Town_Trio_Luver: Have you guys thought about learning any other kinds
of instruments besides keyboards, drums, and guitar? Anything new? (Not
congas, bongos)

Yahoo_HANSON: Isaac: Taylor plays a little guitar, we've been doing some
writing on double guitar recently...I play a little piano, Zac plays a
little piano...I've been thinking about picking up a saxophone, but I'm
only experimenting with it...not seriously.

Yahoo_HANSON: To answer directly. Yes, we've thought about it.

moelases: Have you ever written a special song for a girl you liked?

Yahoo_HANSON: Isaac: Yes....

Yahoo_HANSON: Taylor: Most of the girls don't know it..we've written a lot of love
songs and there are many girls who've been in relationships that we've
written about so yes Yahoo_HANSON: Isaac: i think I gave one girl a
cassette tape with songs on it for Valentine's Day...a long time ago

Yahoo_HANSON: Zac: I'd never admit to something like that

Yahoo_HANSON: Isaac: That is probably a smart policy

hitzims: Hey Hanson, I'm 15 and from Ontaria, and I'm a HUGE Hanson fan
but for the life of me I can't figure out what the song "Pictures" is
about. Can you tell me?

Yahoo_HANSON: Taylor: The song is about somebody being crazy about
someone and seeing in their mind pictures of them all around them...b/c
they're thinking of this person all the time 

Yahoo_HANSON: Isaac: They're seeing them everywhere they go.

MOLLY4114: Wow! Isaac, the guitar riffs and stuff that I've heard on
Hansonline are really great! Did you learn anything on the guitar from
Jonny Lang when he came in the studio with you? I know he's really

Yahoo_HANSON: Isaac: We didn't get an opportunity to jam with him
unfortunately...he laid down a bunch of tracks...but I could learn from
him...he's a really great guy and we really enjoyed his contribution to
the record

karmasfate: What new kinds of sound can we expect to hear in the new
album?

Yahoo_HANSON: Taylor: There's a lot of things...There's DJ Swamps...Jonny
Lang played on three songs

Yahoo_HANSON: Isaac: two full solos and at the end of the single

Yahoo_HANSON: Taylor: John Popper played on the album

jen_46_2: what was it like going into the studio after such a long break?


Yahoo_HANSON: T: In a lot of ways, being creative for the entire time we
never stopped. While we were on the road and at home we were demoing and
in a constant creative mode but it was nice to get back into the studio

Yahoo_HANSON: I: we really enjoyed getting back in the studio, it's a
creative time and place and doing the things like with Jonny Lang it was
a great experience

gigglelro: will you be my valentine?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: I think it's hard to be a valentine over the internet
but we can all pretend

I_luv_itz_2000: Zac, i have been thinking about buying a drum set, which
do you recommend? - Sarah

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: DW Drums are amazing drums, some of the better drums out
there...that's most of what we used on the album. T: but for a beginner
they're not necessarily cheap but they sound really great

groovygurl03: I know a lot of people used to consider Hanson POP music.
How has y'alls music changed in the past 3 years?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: The music is still pop music but I think it's taken an
evolution

Yahoo_HANSON: I: It's got a new raw edge

Yahoo_HANSON: T: It's taken a new rock & roll direction...it's still pop music, but
it's got an edge that it didn't have before

SommerLovin: Taylor, read any good books lately?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: I was reading Catcher in the Rye earlier this year. It
was interesting. I guess every person has read it at some point in his
life.

Yahoo_HANSON: I was reading Old Man & the Sea...and I just finished Atlas
Shrugged

abea_cn: Hi! Er...I am Chinese. You know there are a lot of HANSON FANS
here in China. So are you planning to come to China?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: The plan is we're going to start promoting the record in
March and we're going to go all thru Asia and to the places where we
didn't get to last time around

mbop4vr: Have you thought of an opening band for your tour?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Yes we have..

Yahoo_HANSON: T: There's a band called Larry Land and they're going to tour with us in
the U.S...we're going to take them on tour and see if they can get
interest in labels I: We're not sure if they're going to be in Europe or
not but definately in the U.S.

jen_46_2: what music do you listen to now?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: All the Crows--Black Crowes, Sheryl Crow, Lauryn Hill,
Lenny Kravitz...all the 50s 60s sould music that's on our playlist...

BopGrlA: Do you guys like any music by the Beatles or Billy Joel?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Are you kidding? I love both of those...

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: The only answer to that is Yes!

Yahoo_HANSON: I: We love Billy Joel first of all. I have the record Storm Front in my
car, been listening to that the past few days

Yahoo_HANSON: Love both those artists

itzinthecitay: Hey guys! Happy Valentine's Day! I was just wondering,
what have you been up to besides the recording of TTA? It sounds great by
the way!!

Yahoo_HANSON: I: First of all Happy Valentine's Day to you too.. We've
been preparing for some playing, working out some of the songs for live
performances

Yahoo_HANSON: T: We've taken up rock climbing, surfing..

Yahoo_HANSON: I: continue to ride our motorcycles...dirt bikes

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Everything..when we're in town we see our friends, everything...We've
just kept busy

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Thank you very very much. You're the coolest for saying

Yahoo_HANSON: I: That's quite a compliment

KateJDAice99: Happy Valentines Day! Does Zac have any solos on the new
album? If so, on what songs?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: The song Wish That I Was There is a Zac solo song..We
joked that Zac has a Rod Stewart growl in there

Yahoo_HANSON: I: he's all over the album

bizkit_girl_4eva: What's the one thing you've learned about like, media
hype and stuff since becoming "Stars"?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Well, I think the one thing is just to not take it too
seriously..

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: Not to think of yourself as a star

sea_belle_04: Rock climbing like real mts n stuff or walls?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Both T: We do a little bit of both. To practice we go to
rock climbing gyms and then we worked up to real walls -- Joshua Tree and
San Bernadino National Forest

Yahoo_HANSON: I: It was very fun. San Bernadino has amazing views...absolutely
beautiful

junior_conformist: Hey guys, what's poppin? Happy Valentines Day! I
noticed that you had the very shawanky DJ Swamp guest on your new album.
Do you guys enjoy listening to techno (I hate to label, but you know what
I mean) or did you just want a little master skitchin' on the track?
-Hayden, Detroit (nanu nanu? Someone watching Nick at Nite?)

Yahoo_HANSON: T: We just wanted to have a little master skitchin on the
track..and he was someone who was a very great DJ..the coinicidence in
finding Swamp was that another DJ couldn't get to the studio and he ended
up being perfect for the album

A_Rose_In_The_Rain: Okay this is for Isaac. You're out of high school now
right? What are your plans for college and will you be moving out of your
parent's house anytime soon?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Yes, I'm out of HS...I don't have any direct college
plans at the moment. I'm auditing classes her and there...and if I do go
to college I'll be a music major and I'm already that in real life..but I
definately do encourage people to pursue college. At this moment I just
don't have the time.

twintassy: Hi! Is there artwork in the CD by you guys like the last one?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Some of the very final artwork is not completed. I'm not
sure if there will be...but it's possible

itz_silver_raine: is 'moe records' a real record company? meaning, can
you sign other acts to it?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: MOE Records is currently an imprint of Island/Def
Jam...it's not like we have a staff of people

Yahoo_HANSON: I: The answer is very technical..it's not an operating
record label, but we own the masters to the mmmbop record so the company
was licensing the record...so no it's not a real record label

hansonxprincess: Are you tired of asking the same question "Why did you
cut your hair?"

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Are we tired of it? Well we sort of knew when we chopped
it off that we'd get that question..we're glad we did, b/c we think it's
just hair...and if we want we'll grow it back

chair_girl83: Any favorite snacks you guys ate a lot of in the studio?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: We at a ton of Chex Mix...

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Our grandma always made chex party mix...she wasn't in the studio with
us but we went out and got it in the grocery store

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Everyone kept saying, "We've got to stop getting this...it's
addictive!" as we're all scarfing it

mmmbop4me: Will you write songs about aliens again?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: We wrote a song about an alien but it was kind of a joke


Yahoo_HANSON: T: The first song we wrote was the Man from Milwaukee about an alien..so
you never know what you're going to write about..so you never know

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Zac hasn't seen The Sixth Sense...

Yahoo_HANSON: T: We saw it on the plane and we were really late. That was a great movie


Yahoo_HANSON: I: Oh yeah, Galaxy Quest

Yahoo_HANSON: T: that was a great movie

Yahoo_HANSON: I: And before that The Green Mile which is a great movie

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Anyone who hasn't seen it has to go see it

Yahoo_HANSON: I: I haven't checked...

Yahoo_HANSON: T: We're not sure how many we've gotten..

Yahoo_HANSON: I: We tend to get them in spurts and they start early

Yahoo_HANSON: T: We don't know for sure

mghitz: are you guys gonn be in mtv's making the video?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Yes we are...

Yahoo_HANSON: T: March 6 the single comes out and that's when the video will debut and
the making of the video will be shown on that day

blueirizz: The new songs are a lot more mature than those on the first
albums. I really like a lot of the songs that I've heard, even though I'm
not a die hard Hanson fan. These new songs are really great. Is there any
real inspiration you turn to or is life in general your inspiration?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: I think we tend to write about all kinds of different
things and it's whatever comes into your mind. Life is your inspiration.
You never know what's going to happen... Some of the songs are about
death, about relationships breaking up, some about being crazy about a
girl, about what you believe in

Yahoo_HANSON: T: We write songs about every facet of life

itz_lindz: Ike, got any new guitars lately?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Yes I did. I got one..The first guitar I bought in like
a year or more..A 1966 Gibson ES335 and it's Cherry Red

Yahoo_HANSON: T: It's a beautiful vintage guitar and it sounds awesome

sweet_candy_bee: Do you guys watch "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"

Yahoo_HANSON: you can hear it on the album

Yahoo_HANSON: I: I've seen it once or twice.

Yahoo_HANSON: T: We've seen pieces of it but we're not diehard viewers.

ChatYahoo_Lisa: Think you would win if you played?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: It takes a lot of..

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: Useless knowledge

Yahoo_HANSON: I: We're not huge trivial pursuit people I guess

California_14_f_skateboarder: what's the coolest thing you've done
lately?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Doing four wheelers in the desert

Yahoo_HANSON: T: We were shooting the video for If Only, the first single
internationally, and we were on four wheelers out in the desert. It's
hard to say that's the coolest, but it was a lot of fun

hitz413: You guys are like my idols! You inspired me to learn how to play
music. I took up the alto sax and flut and I can play all the songs on
Middle of Nowhere! You rule!!

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Wow! Thank you very much. It's always cool to see
someone who's been inspired by the music.

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: Yeah!

life_of_a_write: I heard that 'Smile' was not going to be on the new
album. Me being a naturally smiley person, I'd like to kow what you plan
on doing with it?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: The songs, we recorded 17 songs and we had to
cut...which was a difficult thing to do..we kept them for different
things maybe for b-sides on a single, maybe in a movie..Hopefully you'll
end up hearing it

Yahoo_HANSON: I: I think there are a couple of extra songs on the
Japanese release of the record

Yahoo_HANSON: T: So you might hear it on that

Toria_01: What producers are you guys hoping to work with in the future?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: There's a lot of great producers out there. We've met a
lot of them recently. One person is Ric Ocasek who we started working
with early in the process and maybe we'll end up working with him.

Yahoo_HANSON: I: He's a great guy and a very talented person

vanessa_th: If you were wooing someone you liked which song would you
pick from "this time around"?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: There'a not a lot of straight forward love songs on the
album, but you'd have to go ballad with Save Me. If you went up tempo
you'd go with If Only or Wish That I Was There...we're pondering the
meanings of these songs

mmm_Marcia: taylor, last v/d you had your ear pierced. What did you
pierce today?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: I have no new pierceing, but I have considered piercing
something else...

frickinlastergirl009: Hey guys! What's your favorite comic strip?

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: Calvin & Hobbes

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Peanuts is great

tripbill41: Hey Ike hows it going. Have you changed your preferenes on
Amplifires, or did you still prefer "Matchless?"

Yahoo_HANSON: I: I still have my two matchless amplifiers and I love
them. I have a couple of Marshalls...I've been trying out this amp called
Orange, it's a british company. There's a company called Line Six that
does a plug in for pro tools and also does and also does amplifires, so
we used those on the album

ava_alicia: To date what interview has been the most memorable?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: That's a really interesting question.

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: There was an interview with someone on the phone and
they asked us where did we meet

Yahoo_HANSON: I: some of the most memorable interviews I've had have been
on the phone with a DJ in Austrailia named Ugly Phil

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Anyone from Australia probably knows him...

Yahoo_HANSON: I: And man is he Ugly

Hanson_will_always_Dominate: Hey guys! I saw one of your concerts in
Dallas and it rocked! Thanks for putting on a great show. Are there any
plans for the new tour yet? Ashlie

Yahoo_HANSON: T: There are plans for a new tour...rough plan is to start
in the summer in the states and then throughout the world the rest of the
year. We're excited to go to Latin America, Europe, Asia...a lot of
places we didn't get to go last time that we're dying to go

Yahoo_HANSON: I: And of course many places in the US that we're ready to
go

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Unfortunately, no

hitz117: Zac, what is your fav video game?

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: I don't know..I've heard Rainbow 6 is really good,
haven't tried that out yet

Yahoo_HANSON: I: This is awkward, I wish we'd known each other

kaovavoom: Do you really despise being compared to *NSYNC and other
'boybands'?

green_skittle3: hey zac..have you ever thought about dying yer hair blue
or orange?

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: Yeah. I just realized that the color wouldn't look good
on me.

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Zac is considering purple, but I don't know about blue or orange

jordan_44646: I saw an interview with you on MTV and you menntioned that
there are guest appearances on your album. Who are some of those
appearances?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: There were several guest appearances..Jonny Lang played
on a song called You Never Know which opens the record. On Hand in Hand
on the very end of This Time Around..And John Popper on In The City and
If Only.. Also on the record are Swamp, Rose Stone from Sly and the
Family Stone brought in the choir for Dying to Be Alive, David Campbell
did some string arrangement on the album..Those elements added something
cool to the record.

Barefootedalways: You are so awesome to help out Larry Land (and in
general of course) Do you think you'll continue to help good bands like
them get press?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: It's always fun to be able to help other bands get out
there...we're just one other band who gets to do what we love to do.

Yahoo_HANSON: There's another band Athenaeum

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Their record Radiant is really good...guitar driven pop

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Hopefully we'll get to get other bands seen by more people

ChatYahoo_Lisa: Hey when DOES the CD come out?

ChatYahoo_Lisa: Is there a release date yet?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: The record comes out May 9 in the US

Yahoo_HANSON: T: and the first single comes out march 6

Yahoo_HANSON: I: You can see the video on MTV that day and making the video as well

weirdme4ever: Do you plan on doing any movies?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: No plans to do any movies...what Zac always says is that
any movie we'd do would turn into a comedy b/c we're not actors

Dr_PeppeR_Gal99: Zac - people are freaking out (not me). Do you really
have a gf named Betsy..or are you starting a rumor??

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: I'd rather not tell

hitz117: how did you come up with the new album title? -

Yahoo_HANSON: I: The song This Time Around b/c it was the first single,
and the sound of that song

Yahoo_HANSON: T: represented the album very well..

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Thought it represented the musical style of the band &
where we were headed

moehansonlover: When was the pic on the cover of This Time Around taken?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: The picture was taken...towards the end of the recording
process..early November in Los Angeles

taisiaj: You're scheduled for Rosie & Letterman, but what about Jay Leno
again? (we saw you twice there) PROUD Hanson Mom, 35

Yahoo_HANSON: I: We are in NY during that time period, which is why we're
going Letterman and Rosie..We'd love to go on Leno if they'll have us.
Jay Leno is a great guy. Hopefully we'll be doing his show very soon
also.

you guys that I love all the song clips and so far my favorite is "If
Only" I think that it's going to be your biggest hit yet! Congratulations

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Hopefully we haven't explored all the places, so we'll

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: Sleep and eat bad airplane food

Yahoo_HANSON: I: Airplane food is getting better but sometimes you run into really bad
stuff

Yahoo_HANSON: T: Review photo shoots

Yahoo_HANSON: I: watch movies, possibly read too

chasing_butterflies: Tay, who is your favorite piano player? Zac, who is
your favorite drummer and Ike your favorite guitaris and why? -Ewa, 20

Yahoo_HANSON: T: As an artist I'd say Billy Joel, his playing style and
songwriting...he's definately a good one

Yahoo_HANSON: I: I'd probably say Chuck Berry, he's kind of the founder
of the electric guitar..He's a rock and roll icon. One of my first. I
also really admire Jonny Lang, b/c I think he's a great player

Yahoo_HANSON: Z: As far as drums, I don't have one person I really
admire..you just really enjoy a good drummer

ChatYahoo_Lisa: How can we hear the new music?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: for any of you that don'e know, if you like to hear some

moetoes8224: Do you still have a hard time with crazy fans trying to get
into your life?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: The weird thing is fans coming to your house, that's the
kind of thing that continues to happen some times you're not psyched to
see fans at your front door and there's definately some stories of that

megahansonfan: Will you guys be doing anything special for MOE members
during the tour? Like letting fans go backstage, etc?

Yahoo_HANSON: I: We will be doing a very similar thing as so what we did
last time..we brought a group of moe members backstage -- 10 to 20 people
-- and the way we did that was if you bring your moe card with you..we
bring a staff of people to search the audience for moe members randomly
so bring your moe card to the concerts b/c you could get a backstage pass
and we'd love to meet you.

Yahoo_HANSON: There will also be reserved seating for Moe members at
concerts..a first come first serve kind of thing

amber_tara_tom_cathy: Why did you put out 2 different singles at the same
time?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: We were trying to market it better..and the states have
a different market than Europe..the answer is technical but it was a
choice we chose to make

Yahoo_HANSON: This Time we'll probably switch them around

iznogood_85: Hi guys I'm Cyrielle from Geneva, Switzerland. It's 3:00 pm
here in Switzerland. Ok, here's my question. During your next tour do you
plan to come to Switzerland?

Yahoo_HANSON: T: First of all, thank you for staying up and chattin with
