First off I would like to thank a dear cousin,
Sharon Pursley, who just came into my life about 6
months ago. She has helped me fill in many blanks
that I have had about the Calvert family. Sure
there are still many blanks that we need to fill
in, but I know in time we will fine the blanks.
Thanks Sharon for all the help you have given me
these last few months. I know that we will learn
more about our family as we go on.
The Calvert family is an another mystery to us.
All we know about the family is that My Fifth
Great Grandfather William Richard Calvert was born
somewhere around 1765-1784 in KY. We do not know
who his parents are. He married Margaret or
Elizabeth Arnold 3 Dec. 1804 in Washington Co.,
KY. We do not know when either of them pasted
away. We know that several of their children came
to the state of MO. When is unknown?
We have found that Grandmother Margaret or
Elizabeth was married before she married
Grandfather William Calvert. She was married to
John Askins, 24 July 1797, in Washington Co., KY.
This is all we know of this marriage.
