My Home Page =)

My name is Janet Lynn and I was born Nov. 13, 1999. I was in the hospital until Thanksgiving Day and was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis on Dec. 1st.

What is Cystic Fibrosis? Well...my body produces a thick mucus (thicker than a normal person's body) and it gets stuck in my lungs. When that happens it catches all the nasty little germs that cause a cold. Because the mucus is so thick it builds up and I can't get rid of it by myself. I have to do breathing treatments (just like someone with asthma) and CPT (Chest Physical Therapy) every day to loosen everything up. And everytime I get a cold in my lungs it does damage to them. Some day I could need a lung transplant, but I hope we find a cure before it comes to that.

I also have to take enzymes every time I eat because the ones my body produces get stuck and don't make it to my intestines. Enzymes break down the food in your body and absorbs the fat so you can gain weight.
