4-H membership is open
to everyone, regardless of race, religion, color, disability, gender, or place
of residence.
Ages 5 to 7
Children ages 5 to 7 join 4-H as a "Clover Kid." Clover
Kids is the officially recognized pre-4-H program in Missouri for children
under age 8.
The Clover Kids program introduces young children to a variety of 4-H
experiences, including active involvement in most club activities.
As a Clover Kid, your child can serve in secondary leadership roles such as
"Club Song Leader" or "Club Game Leader," he/she can make
puppets, explore plants and animals, build self confidence, and engage in
activities that will teach the child how to get along with others and
effectively communicate.
Although Clover Kids do not enroll in projects or show project animals,
they are not excluded from learning about and caring for animals. The
ultimate goal of this program is to make this age group so excited about 4-H
that they'll continue in 4-H beyond Clover Kids.
Ages 8 to 18
Members of this age group must be ages 8 to 18 before January 1 of the
current year (e.g., turn 8 by January 1 or not turn 19 by January 1).
