Within the darkness I find comfort,
the silence allowing my thoughts to shift to you...
your touch, igniting the fire that I doused so long ago...
your kiss, feeding the flames that dance over my hardened soul.
A slight rustle...
I shake from my trance and turn, expecting to see you...
Nothing...save for a single leaf falling from a nearby tree
I close my eyes, opening myself up to a vision of you...
my heart once again reaching out to you...
...nothing.
