Emily Was Beautiful
12/27/2002

Emily Dickinson wrote exquisitely
She conveyed thoughts so wonderfully
The words she wrote still live today
They have much to give and much to say

Her poems have been read so many times
With all their beauty, verse, and rhymes
Yet they never seem to fade
Of all the feeling from which they were made

Her gift of seeing life so clear
Is why her work has persevered
The insight that her poems pose
Is superior than song and prose

Her work is a splendid treasure
That time alone can truly measure
When I think of her anytime
One word alone comes into mind
Beautiful
To me in the scheme of anything
Emily Dickinson was beautiful in everything
