Vampire Films

Dracula (1992) Starring Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves, Sadie Frost

Review- A film by Francis Ford Coppola based on the original Dracula, lots of blood and gore which was good, but this film is really a love story so u guys may not be interested, mind u seeing Sadie's boobs may change your mind, good effects too although Kenau's english accent is unbelievable, judge for yourselves.

Salems Lot (1979-rerealesed 1995) Directed by Tobe Hooper, who was responsible for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Poltergeist, starring David Soul, James Mason.

This was based on Stephen King's book and if u can get hold of this video u will be lucky. It's old but a great story. Effects are bad but thats due to it being old but the scene with the rocking chair/grave/vampire resurrection and many others make up for it, definately worth a gander.

Interview with a Vampire (1994) Starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater.

This is definately a must for horror fans, but i'm quite partial to it due to all the hunks staring in it. This film was really good with great special effects but maybe too long and it took a while to get going. However it is worth a see due to some brilliant scenes and a good ending. **Damien- I liked this film, kinda slow and full of long boring bits, but hey, i loved the gory bits. During the premier showing of the film in London, i saw about 4 or 5 people walk out during the first 10 minutes because of the rat scene. (it gets its head bitten off)

Dusk Till Dawn - Starring Harvey Keitel, Quentin Tarintino, George Clooney, Juilette Lewis, Directed by Robert Rodriguez, story by Quentin Tarintino.

This is a great vampire film, loads of blood and body's get ripped to shreds. Excellent story by Quentin although the vampires take awhile to come into the film, good effects and humour too - every horror fan must see this one. **Damien- Excellent Tarantino flick, which has a great twist unlike any film before. All the actors and actresses were very good and the dance with the snace is something your'll never forget.

Blade - Starring Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff.

This is another excellent vampire film, the special effects are brilliant and both Snipes and Dorff are great. The first scene is the best and will really wet your appetite for what is to come - this cannot be missed. **Damien- I love this film, loads of action kept me glued throughout the film, although it is predictable, it is very enjoyable. Definatley a must see.

Near Dark - Starring Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton

This is a great vampire flick although it is pretty old now. The scene with Bill Paxton and his spurs was way before its time and that makes it such a great film. Near Dark has a really good story and is one of my favourite vampire films.

Innocent Blood - No major stars

The storyline isn't great but there are some really bloody scenes which are quite good but this film didn't realise impress me, however there a few full frontal scenes of the lead girl in the film, which may appeal to you guys.

Vampire In Brooklyn - Starring Eddie Murphy

This was an ok vampire film but not really scary or nowhere near enough blood and guts, not a true horror film at all if you ask me. **Damien- I think it makes up in storyline and humour, i thought this was a good film, a strange part for Eddie Murphy to play but he does it very well.

Satanic/Demonic

The Omen (1976 re-released 1996)- Starring Gregory Peck, Lee Remick

This is a good film and quite errie in places but is now a bit dated. This film for me was not gruesome enough but however a good horror flick with good performances from all the cast.

The Omen 2(1978 re-released 1996) - Starring Lee Grant, WilliamHolden

This follow up tot the first Omen was good, more bloody scenes but still dated, therefore all special effects are really believable, this is definately a must see however only if you have seen the first. **Damien- It is my thanks to these films for where i got my name from. I much prefer the sequel to the first one, but both are classics and should be seen.

Rosemary's Baby (1968) - Starring Mia Farrow, John Cassevetes

Even though this film is an old film, it is still a great film. There are some really chilling scenes and the dream scene in which the devil rapes Rosemary was originally cut for the release in the UK but was later restored. However the ending for me was a bit of a let down.

Hellraiser (1987) - Starring Ashley Laurence, Clare Higgins

This is such a good film, really gruesome and an excellent story especially for its time. The Cenobites have to be the meanest demons around, especially Pinhead. The film was based on a story by Clive Barker, so you know it is going to be good. This was an excellent film and definately a must see. **Damien- Not much i can say to that, i totally agree.

Hellbound Hellraiser 2 (1988) - Starring Ashley Laurence, Kenneth Graham, Clare Higgins, Sean Chapman, Doug Bradley

This sequel continues the story a few hours from where the original finished. Compared to the first Hellraiser this film didn't nearly match up, but again some really horrible scenes so that makes up for the poor story.

Hellraiser 3 Hell on Earth (1992) - Directed by Anthony Hickox with no major stars appearing

This was a quite a good sequel, very bloody and gory in places especially the club scene but again the story did not match up to the first.

Hellraiser BloodLine (1996) - Starring Joe Chapelle, Kevin Yagher

This was a really good Hellraiser film, there are some excellent gruesome scenes which is really a must for any decent horror. The scene with the twins is really good and makes the film definatelyunmissable
