Glendon battled his way through a tough campaign, working primarily as a starter but also tossed some innings in relief for Kansas City. Recorded a 6-15 ledger with a 5.88 ERA in 29 games including 24 starts... it was the most losses on the team and tied for the 4th-highest loss total in the league.
The Royals were just 7-17 in his starts, supporting him with only 97 runs or an average of 3.9 runs/start... he turned in nine "quality" starts. Was 6-15 with a 6.26 ERA in 24 starts and was 0-0 with one save and a 1.98 ERA in five relief outings. Tagged with losses in each of his first two starts with a 12.54 ERA before recording his first victory of the season vs. Toronto on April 13. Lost his next start at Oakland before winning back-to-back starts vs. Texas and at Toronto to even his record at 3-3.
Dropped four straight starts from May 6-23 and was 0-5 in a 7-start stretch from May 6-June 9. Turned in his best outing of the season against Detroit on June 14... twirled a complete game 7-hit shutout in a 2-0 win... did not walk a batter in the contest while fanning five.
Defeated the Cardinals in St. Louis by a 6-1 score on June 30, his third win in a 4-start stretch that improved his record to 6-9... it was his final win of the season.
Lost his final six decisions of the campaign, including his last five starts from July 17-August 8. Placed on the 15-day Disabled List on August 22, retroactive to August 9, with tendinitis in his left rotator cuff.
Joined the Triple-A Omaha Royals on a rehab. stint in late August... was 1-1 with a 7.98 ERA in three starts for the O-Royals.
Returned to the Royals active roster on September 4. His final five appearances of the season came in relief.
Recorded his first career save with a 4.0 inning relief stint vs. Seattle on September 11. Made three consecutive scoreless relief appearances from September 16-23, tossing 6.2 scoreless frames. Fanned a season-high seven batters on two occasions, which matched his career high... struck out seven Red Sox at Boston on May 17 and seven Cleveland Indians on July 5.
Was 6-10 with a 5.40 ERA at the All-Star break and 0-5 with a 7.12 ERA after the break. Opposing batters hit .304 against him with left-handers batting just .237 (32-for-135) but right-handers hitting at a .322 clip (159-for-494)... only gave up one home run against a left-handed hitter (Cleveland's Jim Thome).

Glendon earned a spot on the major league roster for the 1st time in his career out of spring training...was 1 of 3 rookie hurlers to make the Royals staff, joining Brian Bevil and Jamie Walker. Finished the season with a 6-9 record and 5.50 ERA in 30 games including 27 starts.
Made his 1st big league start and earned his 1st win with a 12-2 victory at Minnesota on April 6...surrendered 2 1st-inning unearned runs and a hit to lead off the 2nd, then settled down and retired 19 consecutive batters until Chuck Knoblauch singled with 2 outs in the 8th inning. Ran his record to 2-0 with a 3-2 win at Toronto in his next start on April 14. Was 0-2 with 6 no-decisions in his next 8 appearances including 7 starts...season ERA jumped from 1.20 to 5.11.
Recorded 3 straight quality starts from May 20-30 and finally got back in the win column with a 3-2 win at Texas on May 30.
Lost his next 6 decisions over 10 appearances including 8 starts.
Went on the 15-day Disabled List on June 22 with a swollen lymph node under his left arm...served a 1-game rehab. assignment at Omaha before being activated on July 1.
Won back-to-back starts for the 2nd time with wins at Boston and Detroit, August 9 and 15. His win at Boston was a 9-2 complete game victory, the only route-going performance of his career...allowed 6 hits in that contest. Won his final start of the season at Milwaukee on September 25, a 2-1 win in which he scattered 4 hits over 7.1 innings.
The Royals were 15-12 in his 27 starts...he was the only hurler on the staff to have a winning team record when he started...the Royals supported him with 125 runs or an average of 4.6 runs/start...he logged a dozen quality starts.
