PWL BIGTIME WRESTLING
MONDAY, MAY 20, 2002 - KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.
Your Announcers: MIKE HOFFMAN and GENE WEST.
Match Number One: SOUPSPOON vs. TIMOUTHEY.
As Soupspoon is only a rookie, it took him a little longer to defeat Timouthey than we have seen in previous Timouthey squashes. Nevertheless, a win is a win, and Soupspoon showed definite improvement here, pinning Timouthey in 34 sceonds.
Mike Hoffman conducted an interview with Big Stewie Entertainments Chairman Porky Hooton, who made the official announcement that COOLEROY would be defending the PWL World heavyweight championship against THE TERROR at PWL24. The fans were unamused by this, and began booing the announcement. This prompted The Terror himself to emerge from backstage. After spending some time verbally assaulting the fans of his 1999 hometown area, Terror jawed that he was the only intelligent choice to defeat Cooleroy for the World title. Porky Hooton interrupted him, announcing that The Terror would have to wrestle later on in this Bigtime Wrestling show against a surprise mystery opponent. Terror seemed none too fearful of this.
Match Number Two,
Ladies' World championship match:
EVE OF DESTRUCTION (champion) vs.
PHYLLIS D (challenger).
Mike and Gene were joined at the announcers' table by Rudi Rae Moore and her new teammate, whose name was revealed by Moore as Dolly Might. Rudi Rae further noted that there would be another surprise in store for Eve of Destruction at PWL24, one she described as a "walking, talking natural disaster." Oh yeah, Eve pinned Phyllis in 7:02 to keep the Ladies' championship belt.
Match Number Three:
SHAGGY and FREDDY vs.
DWAYNE and T-BOY (with Bubba Shakespeare).
Quite a shocker, this match was. Dwayne and T-Boy, though continuing their bumbling, shamheaded ways, were able to top Shaggy and Freddy here. After 7:47, Dwayne pinned Shaggy after timely interference from Bubba Shakespeare. Following the match, Shaggy and Freddy argued with one another, and Shaggy informed Mike Hoffman that "changes will have to be made, man."
Match Number Four: THE GRITHER vs. SWAMI YOGANTI.
It can't be said The Grither is a "rulebreaker," as one would have to be aware of the concept of rules in order to break them. Though he isn't a traditional fan favorite, The Grither has endeared himself in a strange way to the PWL fans. Yoganti was back to his cheating, fan-despising ways here, but his actions were no match for The Grither's grizzled grappling. Grither defeated Yoganti by submission (double claw to the head) at 8:19.
Match Number Five,
World cruiserweight championship:
BILLY RAY VALENTINE, CAPRICORN (champion) vs.
? (QUESTION MARK) (challenger).
The cruiserweight title was the goal of ?, who has been a c-weight mainstay for several years in the PWL. Unfortuately for him, Valentine was just too talented and dastardly to let go of his coveted strap, and the Karate Man was able to hold on to the championship. It was a tough go for him, though, as ? put up a fight for 15:11 before Billy Ray scored the pinfall.
Match Number Six:
TANKA SATCHMO and RUSSELL BRUTE (with Mondo Mbamba) vs.
SUPER HEAVY and SUPER HORNET aka THE SUPER H's(with Sweet Daddy
Williams).
The ongoing war between the Mondo and Sweet Daddy factions continued here, and once again, the match concluded with no surrender in sight from either side. Referee Del Griffith called for a no-decision at 10:14 after none of the wrestlers wished to abide by Griffith's ground rules.
Mike Hoffman interviewed the decidedly unpopular World tag champions, AA (JUSTIN TOXICATED and AL COHOLIC). They further alienated the crowd by introducing their new manager, JOHN BARLEYCORN. Barleycorn promised that his new charges would wreak drunken havoc over the PWL. Barleycorn informed the crowd, "Yep, Dustin and Hal have those, uh, gold belts, and whaddaya gonna do 'bout it, Wrangler?"
Match Number Seven: FAT ALBERT vs. ELMO BLATCH.
The winner of this match would receive the opportunity to wrestle Schoolhouse Rocky for the Quadruple Crown heavyweight championship at PWL24. For this reason, Rocky joined Mike and Gene for commentary for the second week in succession. Sure, Elmo Blatch is the former UWF champion, and has been quite impressive in recent weeks, both at house shows and on television, but Fat Albert is a PWL Legend. Fat Albert picked up the win, pinning Blatch in 12:51. Schoolhouse Rocky repeated his glare from last week, this one directed at his PWL24 opponent, the one and only Fat Albert.
Match Number
Eight, Television Main Event:
THE TERROR vs. DIRK MERCURY.
The Terror was taken aback upon learning that his opponent on Bigtime Wrestling was Dirk Mercury, who recently began wrestling part-time in The Terror's TWO outfit. Naturally, the former World champion was able to gain the adavntage over Mercury, but Mercury's years of PWL experience gave him the ability to stay in the action. Terror took control, and was readying Dirk for the Terror Spike, when "Kingpin" Wilson Fisk walked to ringside. Referee Tom Tate was fortuitously distracted by a brawl in the stands, and Fisk belted The Terror in the mouth with a roundhouse right. Mercury covered Terror, ,and Tate counted to three. Dirk Mercury pinned The Terror at 11:11. The show ended with Fisk standing over The Terror, announcing, "It appears to me, Terror, that you were just pinned by your own fag." It didn't really add to anything, but the fans got a good laugh at The Terror all the same.
