PWL BIGTIME WRESTLING
MONDAY, MAY 13, 2002 - TULSA, OKLAHOMA.
Your Announcers: MIKE HOFFMAN and GENE WEST.
Match Number One:
SUPER HORNET (with Sweet Daddy Williams) vs.
"Flyboy" BILLY DEMAN.
The onetime PWL curtain jerker Flyboy Billy has added a last name, DeMan. That didn't prevent him from once again appearing in the opening match. Hornet was no doubt upset to be featured in the first bout of the card. Also, Hornet was obviously still "stinging" (haw haw) at his disqualification at last week's Bigtime Wrestling. An angry wrestler facing a confused jobber, well, it should come as no surprise that Super Hornet won handily, pinning DeMan at 7:17 of one-sidedness.
Mike Hoffman conducted an interview with North American heavyweight champion EXTERMINANS. The champ praised his mentor, Joe The Giant, and added that although he enjoys his role as NA titleholder, he would like nothing more than to capture the World heavyweight championship. "Cooleroy has my complete respect, Mike," Exterminans said, "but he has what I want, and what everybody here wants, the World championship. And Wilson Fisk, Schoolhouse Rocky, Fat Albert, and the rest of you, as far as I'm concerned, your so-called path to the World championship dead-ends right here with Exterminans."
Match Number Two,
Ladies' World championship match:
EVE OF DESTRUCTION (champion) vs.
RUDI RAE MOORE (challenger).
Eve was challenged here by Rudi Rae Moore, who had not been seen before on PWL Television, but has quite a reputation in the Los Angeles area, where she was "discovered" by Joe The Giant while wrestling for an independent show in a Ralph's parking lot. This title match was quite a brawl-a-thon, and referee Tom Tate called the match off at 5:25 when another female entered the ring and assisted Rudi Rae in a beatdown of Eve. If this turns out as it appears, we may in for a babyface Eve feuding with the heel Rudi Rae and her still-unnamed friend.
Mike Hoffman was back on camera for another interview, this time chatting with MONDO MBAMBA and his stable of wrestlers. SMOTH RUDY, M. KLEATS, TANKA SATCHMO, and RUSSELL BRUTE took their turns on the mic with Mike, with each wrestler making promises to win various PWL championships.
Match Number Three:
BUBBA SHAKESPEARE (with Dwayne and T-Boy) vs.
SWAMI YOGANTI.
A cocky Bubba Shakespeare challenged Yoganti personally, assuring the PWL he would score a win here, due to Yoganti's recent TV losing streak. Somebody forgot to remind Bubba of his rather lackluster record since joining the PWL, but the devious Swami knew it full well. With the fans cheering him on for the first time since joining the PWL, Swami Yoganti reversed his fortunes, defeating Shakespeare by submission (a camel clutch, to be specific) at 9:00.
Match Number Four: CONRAD PAIN vs. ELMO BLATCH.
Returning to television after a few weeks, Conrad Pain took his frustration over lack of exposure out on former UWF champion Elmo Blatch. The gritty Blatch was up for the assault, though, and to paraphrase Clark Kent in Superman III, he gave as good as he got. The fans really enjoyed this match, which featured no scientific ability whatsoever, and they seemed not to care that it was ruled a double-disqualification at 7:10 by referee Tom Tate. Tate made this ruling after the referee assigned for the match, Del Griffith, was knocked out simultaneously by both wrestlers, always a popular screwjob finish in the PWL.
Match Number Five,
North American heavyweight championship:
EXTERMINANS (champion) vs. "Kingpin" WILSON FISK (challenger).
This bout was a rematch from April 15, when Exterminans and Wilson Fisk fought to a 20-minute draw. This bout was no less exciting to watch, as the champion displayed his vast arsenal of maneuvers taught to him by the legendary Joe The Giant, and Kingpin dazzled fans with his wrestling knowledge and brute force. This battle may well have ended in another time-limit draw, but an unscheduled appearance by The Terror ruined things for everybody. Terror resumed his feud with Wilson Fisk by attacking him at roughly the 15:00 mark of this match. Exterminans, known for his own disgust of The Terror, helped Fisk thwart the head of the TWO, and Terror beat a hasty retreat. Postmatch, Fisk informed Mike Hoffman that if The Terror dares to show up on next week's Bigtime Wrestling, he'll have a surprise in store.
Match Number Six,
Unified tag championship:
REYNALDO GUERRERA and LARS LUNDQUIST (champions, with The Woman
Monique) vs.
CHARLES NELSON MANSON and GRAVY TRAIN GLUTZ (challengers).
The televised rematch for the Unified tag titles, which Manson and Glutz dropped to Guerrera and Lundquist on April 8. Turnabout appeared to be fair play here, as the former UWF/CWA champions regained the titles, despite the interference of The Woman Monique. Glutz pinned Lundquist in 12:22 to secure the win for Manson and himself. After the match, Guerrera and Lundquist shouted that the Unified tag titles would be theirs again.
Match Number Seven: FAT ALBERT vs. BILLY RAY VALENTINE, CAPRICORN.
The arrogant Cruiserweight champion issued an open challenge to anybody in the back. To everybody's delight, out stepped the massive PWL Legend Fat Albert. For obvious reasons, Valentine's championship was not on the line here. Mind you, this was not a total squash, thanks to Billy Ray's grappling intelligence. Still, Fat Albert's girth was too much for his fellow Philadelphian, and Albert got the victory via pinfall in 11:01.
Match Number
Eight, World heavyweight championship:
COOLEROY (champion) vs. SUPER HEAVY (challenger, with Sweet Daddy
Williams).
Quadruple Crown heavyweight champion SCHOOLHOUSE ROCKY joined Mike Hoffman and Gene West at the commentary table for this tee-vee main event contest. Although Super Heavy was more than qualified to receive this World title shot based on his recent house show performers, Rocky ripped Heavy mercilessly, with many references to his recent Q-Crown title match against Super Heavy on PWL television. While SHR didn't insult the World champion, he remarked that Cooleroy was ripe for the picking, and the World championship would soon be around Rocky's waist. Incidentally, Cooleroy pinned Super Heavy here, in 13:02, to retain the World heavyweight championship. Cooleroy and Schoolhouse Rocky glared at each other to end the show.
